Three pages of shot list from a particularly difficult shoot. #PoPS10
Starts episode 1 of PoPS: hmm this seems light hearted enough. I'm sure I won't get overly attached to these characters Finshes episode 10 of PoPS: WHAT TRICKERY IS THIS?!?
Hey! So, my favorite web series the Platoon of Power Squadron is about to air its finale tomorrow on Youtube and I thought I’d give it a boost for people who’ve never heard of it. It’s about four 20 somethings with superpowers trying to figure out what to do with them and where they fit in the world. Apparently it’s been 7 years since it started and it definitely influenced my work and keeps doing so. I went to the premier at the Music Box Theater last week and severely enjoyed the ending to this story and maybe you will too!
(Working on something to celebrate the finale so stay tuned)
Mild spoilers for Platoon of Power Squadron episode 10 (The Final Slice). This might be my favorite moment from my favorite sequence in the whole episode: Professor Synapse Jonas and the Smoke Snake Damon finally have a showdown, and (true to form) Jake Jarvi subverts all of my expectations.

Catchphrase.
Favorite images from PoPS 10. This one basically stands in for any shot that includes all four of us. There was something about the energy of any frame we all filled together. Maybe that’s just me, but I dig these characters and the people who played them.
Favorite PoPS Images:
Jonas’s head is a weird place. After shooting me with the boys we just moved the camera in on each of them, dropped the green screen in behind them, and I roto’ed their heads onto their necks.
I’ll also include the description of this moment from the PoPS10 script:
Favorite PoPS Images:
We wrap up our week of gifs from Jonas’s subconscious with this little number.
Not pictured are David and Chris frantically tossing feathers into the air as fast as they can and trying to get them to scatter with an oscillating fan. Every shot in this sequence took many more takes than I expected to get the feathers to cooperate and we wrapped at about 1:30 a.m.
There were so many airborne feather particles, we were swapping stories of sore throats and tired lungs for days afterward. When we moved out of that apartment 6 months later, we were still finding feathers.
