Went shopping for clothes and watched Love, Simon 👬 with my dad and sister yesterday!!! It’s incredible to see Lgbtqiap+ characters in a movie played in theaters everywhere, one that actually has a happy ending! According to The Independent, “Love, Simon is the first mainstream teen romantic comedy to feature a gay lead character.” That’s groundbreaking and history in the making!!! 🌈💖🌈💖🌈💖 Kids, teens, adults who are, for any reason, struggling to come to terms with being gay, lesbian, bi, pan, anything other than straight - this movie teaches them that it’s totally okay! The Lgbtqiap+ community *needs* more positive representation like this, so that more and more people learn that romantic orientation, gender, gender expression, gender norms, etc. really aren’t that big of a deal, at the end of the day!!
