TWW REWATCH: Posse Comitatus (3.23)
• always thought Bartlet throwing the pen down on the table was rude of him lol
• Josh asking Amy if burnt toast gives you cancer when he eats burnt meat...Josh chances are you’re getting cancer too
• ah Debbie! I always forget which episode she’s introduced in
• “It's Charlie. I think there's trouble with your phone line. We kept getting disconnected.”
“We weren't getting disconnected. I was hanging up.”
• damn I forgot about the big brother thing too
• “Tell him I have a rash on my hand.”
• honestly how did the Oval Office go without a main secretary for a year?
• Debbie showing up high hahaah
• “Before your next job interview with the President, I'm gonna remind you that you probably don't want to be stoned.”
• The entire scene with CJ and Simon outside. is entertaining. I love their back and forth.
“I got to say, there are times when it seems like you like me.”
“Then you just walk off to stick it to me, and forget the personalities. It's just stupid!”
“So did I. I tried to kiss you.”
“I was lying, you idiot.”
• Then of course the stalker is caught so CJ and Simon are free to date, but then his life is tragically cut short. Classic Sorkin. A character’s life starts to go well and then bam.
• Toby slapping and grabbing Sam’s face lol
• why does no one question why the motorcade was sent up a street when the president wasn’t even in it?
• “I'll be arranging a second meeting with Deborah Fiderer when we get back to town.”
“Are you pledging a fraternity or something?”
• ok I don’t understand a few things and I’m looking way too far into this but I don’t care
a.) Why were the robbers just hanging around the store? The till was already empty when Simon got there. You could argue maybe they also wanted to take some food from the store, but wouldn’t they be doing that rather quickly, while holding the owner at gunpoint? The one robber is just standing there pretending to look at stuff. Idk I’m not a robber but I always thought their goal was to get in, steal a bunch of shit, and get out as quick as possible.
b.) The robber who shot Simon. Why didn’t he just shoot Simon right away? Or was he planning on letting Simon go until Simon handcuffed the other robber?
c.) The robber Simon handcuffed. Was he arrested when the police/secret service got there? Because the robber who shot Simon just completely dipped and didn’t bother untying his partner.
d.) and then of course the more pressing question most people ask: why didn’t Simon look for another person in the store and why wasn’t he wearing a bulletproof vest?!
• sorry hallelujah is beautiful and it’s great in this scene but I will always think of Shrek.
• anyway back to scheduled programming
• I don’t understand who would’ve called Amy to tell her Simon was killed. You could argue it was to tell Josh. But Josh doesn’t know Simon? I just don’t get it.
• bro I’m sorry but Rob Ritchie is giving me Guy Fieri vibes?? I think I’ve been watching too much diners drive ins and dives lmao
• “But you've turned being un-engaged into a Zen-like thing, and you shouldn't enjoy it so much is all, and if it appears at times as if I don't like you, that's the reason why.”
“You're an academic elitist and a snob. You're, uh, Hollywood, you're weak, you're liberal, and you can't be trusted. And if it appears from time to time as if I don't like you, well, those are just a few of the many reasons why.”
I’m somehow both of them? (Except with the things I crossed out in Ritchie’s.) I hate people who think they’re better than/look down on others just because they’re educated or belong to a certain class, and I hate people who act like not caring or putting in little/no effort is cool.
• I love the ending so much. The song over the Shareef assassination and Fitzwallace and Leo and Bartlet waiting for the call.
• and the song goes hard!!
