@staff is this a scam?
Hey I got this comment on one of my fics this morning and it looked pretty sketchy. Anyone know anything about this?
Update: I have reported this as spam, but please keep spreading this to help fellow fanfic authors.
I'm new to tumblr
is this a scam thing or nah?
like this seems very scammy right?
the email from the inbox message and email on their pinned post doesn’t match, the way this is typed seems copy/pasted, and the fact that they just started posting and reblogging three hours ago… 🤔 very suspicious. i’ve seen similar scams going around tumblr for awhile now.
i hope this isn’t someone actually fighting cancer, in that case i’m sorry. they’ve asked the wrong person for help though, considering i am negative almost $100 and have to figure out a way to pay for my dog’s vet appointment tomorrow 😅
Anyone else get this or know if it's legit?
PSA:
So this showed up on my Pinterest, MULTIPLE TIMES.
I was instantly suspicious because as far as I am aware, Adam Driver doesn't do social media.
If anyone else has seen this, please be careful! I don't know if it's a scam or something else, but until I know for certain, I'm not taking the risk.
Hello.
I don't know if this post is appropriate, but I thought I'd share it publicly for the good of the community: I apparently almost fell victim to a scam. Unfortunately, before I could take any screenshots, the account disappeared - poof, gone. So, I apologize for seemingly making empty claims, but please believe me.
Someone wrote to me - the account name was apparently bonnniiiieeee - to inform me that my account had been reported to the Tumblr administration. I admit, I immediately became incredibly upset and cried because I'd had a pretty rough day, and this news just devastated me. I received a screenshot informing me that I had allegedly violated the community guidelines and was asked to join Discord to contact Tumblr support.
This seemed rather suspicious to me, so I did nothing and simply went to the guidelines page on Tumblr's official media.
The message urged me to get on Discord as soon as possible to resolve this. When I replied that I would contact support personally, the conversation disappeared.
And I can't find the account that wrote to me - it's possible it's been banned.
And I have no evidence to back up my words.
I admit, I'm still crying and shaking.
If this turns out to be true, I'm simply sorry that such a mistake occurred and my account will disappear.
But if it's a scam, has anyone experienced a similar situation? Please be careful.
Please give me any advice or anything.
Chat, idk if this is a scam or not/gen
