I went Gluten, meat, dairy, sugar, additive, alcohol free – and it changed my life!!!
I had sooooo much more energy – which I only used on planning all my meals and label checking and exercise.
I hardly saw my friends and lost many of them because they would suggest things that would not allow me to follow my eating plans or routines. But that helps me find my “REAL” friends…but they are all mostly online.
Events became stressful and embarrassing. The whole time I would be anxious about avoiding things or trying to fit in the most healthy thing I could…So I didn’t really engage in life milestones like birthdays or weddings, but hey, my skin was great.
I lost a lot of my original passions such as art and music as my life was just too busy with meal prep, analysing macros and fitting this around a job! Just priorities I guess.
I have amazing blood results and I’m sooo healthy looking and haven’t had an illness or disease in months! All it takes is devoting your life to eating as healthy as possible and missing out on all the other aspects of life! Socializing, travel, crazy spontaneous moments, creating and helping others and being part of celebrations! That’s not living... right?
Ok, so this is just a bit of my way of venting after seeing one too many online posts on what “healthy” is. This is a way I used to think…and still have to fight pretty hard to go against my anxieties surrounding the media and “health” news. It is not meant to offend, and I hope it doesn’t. I just want to raise the point that the way many health gurus live is just not applicable to a person who lives for more than trying to achieve perfect physical health.
