i know it would probably be difficult to achieve considering the world post-dr3 is literally in ruins but like,,, imagine after the first year of being on the irl island, for komaeda’s birthday, hinata (with the aid of tanaka on the mainland) gets him a dog🥺 and they take on walks together around the island.

the dog is a real sweetheart, and likes to lay their head on komaeda’s lap when he’s just reading. if hinata has to head to the mainland to help naegi and the others with something, the dog’ll keep komaeda company while he’s away. or if komaeda starts to have too serious of an episode for the dog to help calm him while recovering and doesn’t want/can’t be alone, the dog’ll go running to find wherever hinata is on the island and bring him to him.

as part of his recovery, komaeda has physical therapy with nidai and owari in best interest for his health. sometimes when it’s something simple like jogging, the dog will run alongside him. when he gets down on his spirits during these exercises, the dog will do its best to almost encourage him (tanaka says dogs can be very good at sensing their owner’s feelings, but even hinata says sometimes that dog is almost impossibly smart).

i don’t know what they’d name it tho :(

It has been six months since the fall of the Future Foundation. The world is slowly rebuilding itself, working together to achieve a common goal: normalcy. During this time, what remains of the Future Foundation puts out an announcement that shakes the entire country.

Naegi Makoto, the Ultimate Hope, will be reopening Hope’s Peak Academy under a new name: Hope’s Peak High School. Under the belief that the world needs a symbol of hope, the restoration and revival of the once world famous academy begins.

Hope’s Peak High School will be a place where hope will take form, lives will start, and futures will begin.
