Alright so I'll just transcribe the notes that I wrote down in regards to this thing (I've just dreamt this plot so give me some liberties)
Eddie/Chrissy/Steve fic idea snippet whtvr
Takes place after s4 could even after the finale, Chrissy survived the whole ordeal and fought with the guys and bonded with Steve and Eddie, Eddie fucking dies and they have to move on and are dealing with their grief (not romantic yet but there was potential for them )
Chrissy and Steve get together eventually, Dustin pops up like the obvious corner stone and Braincell that he is and gives them the idea to get rings, 1st time doesn't work out bc the rings don't match them, they try again but this time with something that matches their personality/has meaning to them (in my head rn Eds was a top and Steve being a switch that leans bottom and Chrissy also being a switch, bit BC of Eds biting it she has to go a more top role -> lovely angst potential and emotional bits and pieces)
Chrissy - has a normal looking ring from a distance but from up close (dealers choice) something very metal that represents Chrissy being a fucking badass that survived the upside down and also the fact that she is not some spineless cheerleader and has some dominance there (eg. A ring that is a curled spine around her finger maybe some bats motif there)
Steve - for him it's a very specialised ring - a fusion of a more thicker and a thinner band of ring (in my head it's 2 different rings fusing together in the middle) representing Steve's commitment to both Chrissy and Eddie, that he swings both ways and if you want to go genderfluid route -> depending on which side is up that's the way they present in the moment
Time passes, Chrissy and Steve have a routine but Eds has been haunting their entire narrative, Eds appears (once again, how is very much up to you) reunites with them has a very emotional scene where they finally get together and they match with their rings, the tryad is complete
Optional if you want - a smut scene where it is very emotionally charged, the dynamics are reestablished
And from then on you can have scenes of them interacting with the rest of the gang
You can leave it as a very ace ending if you want to, the bigger focus is on the grief, the acting married without the marriage kind of behaviour
Plus any Dustin interactions are mandatory and needed pls and thank you
