Clarinet Lamp

I got this clarinet ages ago from my great-grandfather. He got it in the early 1900s and played it in a military band when he was drafted, so I was less than keen to sell it.

These “pot metal” clarinets were cheaply made with the melted-down scrap metal from manufacturing. They’re very pretty, but most play horribly and are crazy difficult to tune. This one, in particular, was in such rough condition that it would’ve cost more than the instrument was worth to get it playing again. So, lamp!

The entire thing was put together for just over the price of the wiring kit (pretty much any hardware store). I use a product called “Nevr-Dull Wadding Polish” for polishing metal. I found the shade and base at a thrift store.
