Goldie's Guide to Witchcraft: A Tumblr Grimoire for The Masses

Having money troubles? Need some extra cash to scooch you by? This is beginner friendly potion can help give you a little luck in that department, but before we get to the recipe, just a little disclaimer:

Magic can't do the work for you. You must put in the work and effort to better your situation, this potion will just give you a boost so that abundance is amplified!

With that out of the way;

A cup of milk, any kind is fine. (fertility)

Dried chamomile flowers, but chamomile tea could also work (associated with wealth and abundance)

Cinnamon sticks / ground cinnamon (associated with wealth and several wealth gods like Hades, Hekate, etc)

a pinch of salt (for grounding, use very little)

[Optional] Lavender ( explained later on)

Make sure you cleanse and charge your cup before adding the ingredients, and you must visualize your intent with each ingredient for maximum manifestation. Think about the symbolism of each ingredient; chamomile flowers making your bank account blossom, milk filling your pockets with change, etc.

Personally, I usually make this potion before bed as the ingredients tend to induce drowsiness, and it will allow the potion to truly take affect as you sleep on it. Lavender may used to aid in this.

Finally, breathe your intentions before the first sip or mix clockwise for an added touch of abundance! Stir counterclockwise for protection :) Have fun, and good luck, Witches!

Weight loss potion spell

You will need ( you don’t need all of the stuff, if you have a little or all of it , the spell will still work) :

A dark blue candle: weight loss, change

A yellow candle: activity, action, energy, focus , confidence

A green candle: success

Sodalite Crystal: metabolism, soothes hunger pangs and cravings, helps you make healthier choices

Sunstone: metabolism, willpower

Amethyst: portion control, prevents over eating

Green adventurine: appetite suppressant

Fluorite: keeps you focused and confident

Picasso: self control , metabolism, prevents overeating

Flax seeds: beauty

Lemon balm leaves: success

(Medicinal factor) Lemon balm , lemon grass or peppermint tea: will help digestion , weight loss and body health

How to:

1. Organize flax seed, lemon balm leaves, crystals and candles into a circle formation and place your cup of tea in the middle before you put your tea bag in!

2. Put tea bag in, and as it steeps for 2-3 mins, visualize the energies of the magickal items flowing into your cup as you Chant “I will reach my goal weight” for as long as you feel you need to.

3. Drink your tea and place the crystals, leaves and seeds beside your bed in a circle , sort of crystal grid like formation.

Keep the lil Crystal and herb grid by your bed until the leaves go kinda gross. You should be able to lose weight and stay in better control.

Extra tip: drink one of the suggested teas above at least once every day before bed. A tea recipe can be found below!

Make your own tea for this spell

If you have your own lemongrass, lemon balm and peppermint leaves, collect some from your plants and bake them in the oven on a cookie sheet at 260 F for 7.5 minutes and make a tea from it, it tastes like fruit loops! Doesnt really need honey or anything but honey does make it a lil more delicious!

Lemon balm: helps bloating

Lemongrass: diuretic, aids digestion, strengthens your system/ body

Peppermint: weight loss, aids digestion, appetite suppressant

part i: the preparation

Carve a pumpkin for a jack-o-lantern to ward off evil spirits. For the potion, stir freshly brewed chai tea, hot milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and brown sugar together clockwise in a mug. Charge the potion however you’d like to.

part ii: the ritual

Sit outside on Samhain night and sip your pumpkin chai. Get in contact with your familiar if you have one, and write something by the light of your jack-o-lantern, such as a letter to your deities or your ancestors. I like to write something different every year.

Yzma’s Poison - So that other’s malicious intent backfires on them.

Needed:  - A small mirror - Black sharpie or paint (something to draw on the mirror with) - Pine incense Or a Pine Scented Candle - Craft wire - Little sealable bottle - Charcoal or Ashes - A couple Thorns (Opt) - Pink Food coloring  - Some glitter if you feel like it - Moon Water - Sigil for Reversal of Malicious intent

Steps:  - Take a moment to center yourself and focus on your intent. Its important to be focused going into this spell - Take your mirror, and use your sharpie or paint to draw out your sigil on the reflective side. Its important that this doesn't get wiped off for the duration of the spell.  - Set that aside to dry. - while your mirror is drying, gather your craft wire, and do your best to bend and twist it into a circle and make it kind of look like barbed wire ( It doesn't need to be sharp!). The circle only needs to be big enough to fit on top of your mirror.  - Take your bottle, and fill it with moon water. Leave a little room for your additional ingredients.  - Add your charcoal or ashes to the bottom of your bottle,  - If you have them add your thorns too.  - Add your food coloring until you reach a color you like, and if you want, you can add Glitter too! - Seal your bottle. - Light your incense and let the smoke fall over all the objects you have crafted.  - Once your sigil is dry, Set your barbed wire on top of the mirror. - Set the bottle in the very center of the barbed wire.  - Set the all of it in a window overnight (Not the incense, make sure that gets extinguished.) - Let it sit somewhere it will be undisturbed for as long as you would like the spell to be in effect.

Confusion About Food Magick and Potions...

So, I am not a kitchen witch and I’ve been recently considering making potions and stuff. However, my brain was confused on how food magick and potions...work. What I mean by this is, for example, the sigil making process is: statement of intent, crafting the sigil, charging it, then destroying it. Then it works until it produces a result. Knot magick (knitting) works by crafting an object imbued with intent. It will continue working until the item itself is unraveled. So how does food magick and potions work? Does it only work until you digest it? Until the body excretes it? I was nonetheless confused. 

So I went to my witchy friends @theredribbon and @nassadii. TheRedRibbon tried helping my confusion stating, “ Magic is woven into the foods but then when digested it gets unraveled and then it dissipates” and although I understood that, at the same I was like so it just lasts until it’s COMPLETELY removed from the body? (i am forcibly removed from the body lmao). I then turned to Nassadii who ultimately exclaimed that it’s all about intent (as with all other witchcraft practices). If the intent is for a week, the spell lasts for a week. If it’s for a month, it’ll last for a month.

The way I’m seeing it is similar to the sigil making process. You have your intent, gather all the materials needed with the corresponding ingredients, make the product (giving it energy by baking, boiling, etc), and then consuming it (or having others consume it depending on what the spell is) and it’ll last until it gives the result it’s intended to give.

Protection potion

This potion can also be used to enhance astral travel, spirit work, and divination!

Ingredients:

• Moon water

• Blueberry tea bag

• Lavender milk

• Amethyst(optional)

Bring your moon water to a boil and pour in a mug. Drop in the blueberry tea bag and let it steep for 3-5 minutes. Pour in the lavender milk, stir clockwise, and enjoy!
