As soon as they board the submarine Henri, the young crew members must quickly change in the changing rooms to go on their first mission. Louis tries to calm down an incipient argument between his friend Philippe de Moustier and Duke Felipe of Pierreland. Fortunately, Philippe finally apologises to Felipe.
In the argument, Philippe mentions the exclusion of Duke Felipe from the university for exchanging blows with other students. These students mocked his status as a bastard of Emperor David of Pierreland.

Louis tente tant bien que mal de calmer une dispute naissante entre son ami Philippe de Moustier et le duc Felipe de Pierreland. Heureusement, Philippe présente finalement ses excuses à Felipe. Dans la dispute, Philippe mentionne l'exclusion du duc Felipe de l'université pour avoir échangé des coups avec d'autres étudiants. Ces étudiants se moquaient de son statut de bâtard de l'Empereur David de Pierreland.

The Tuileries Palace announcement: the Imperial Prince and his sister at Polytechnic
The Tuileries Palace officially announced the entry of the Children of Francesim, Their Imperial Highnesses Prince Louis Napoléon and Princess Hortense Rose, to the École Polytechnique in Paris.
Two portraits of Their Imperial Highnesses in school uniforms were presented to the French and the world. True muses of the École Polytechnique, Prince Louis and Princess Hortense caused a sensation: a record number of enrolments was published by the school's administration, representing an increase of almost 150%.
The palace also certified that the Children of Francesim would parade in uniform for the upcoming Saint Napoleon's Day on 27 Thermidor!
The choice of the École Polytechnique "For the Empire, the Sciences, and Glory"
A reliable source in the imperial palace said that Prince Louis and Princess Hortense had always envisaged the École Polytechnique as a "logical continuation of their studies".
The Polytechnic School is one of the six major military schools of the Francesim Empire. Founded during the Revolution, it was Napoléon I Simparte who gave the school its outline, militarising it and deciding on its modern organisation.
The Polytechnic School provides several studies mixing sciences and military professions, training engineers, doctors and great officers and soldiers of the empire.

Louis trained with his battalion and enjoyed every day at Camp Courtine. For him, it was obvious: he wanted to be a soldier. After a week rich in experience and emotion, the group was about to receive its first distinction from the Polytechnic School: the blue beret.

The palace of Meudon officially announces the beginning of the human and military training course for the imperial prince Louis and his sister, the imperial princess Hortense. This is a compulsory 6-month assignment from the Ecole Polytechnique to the army or a civilian organisation.

During the night, Louis tells his sister about his day with Laura, then about their evening. Hortense is very curious, and rather optimistic about Laura's integration into their court despite her brother's disappointment. Louis is not very convinced, and is still upset by Laura's views on the empire. He had never heard that before.
