Arcane Character Name Correlation?
I know this might be obvious to others but is Jinx being called Powder and making monkey bombs connected to the whole "Powder Monkey" kids in history?! Am I onto something?!
y’all. In lighter news, I just realized that with Jinx’s signature symbol being a monkey…
She’s a powder monkey.
Powder monkeys were usually boys or young teens, selected for the job for their speed and height: they were short and could move more easily in the limited space between decks and would also be hidden behind the ship's gunwale, keeping them from being shot by enemy ships' sharpshooters.
her whole deal is speed and her number one enemy is a sharpshooter.

Yeargh..!! Here is my submission to @duck_in_a_bucket ‘s character creation contest!! To explain a little bit, I created a little Sandwing kid named Griffen! He’s probably about pre-teen age and often wants to ‘prove’ himself, having a pretty stoic and cool boy attitude when he’s really just a rebellious youngster mixed up with a rag tag crowd. I based him off of colored canyons and a little bit of cowboys! Now, onto the story ✨ (which can be changed or adjusted by Duck in any way shape or form.)

Story: Griffen was a hatchling when his parents got mixed up in the wrong crowd, and as a result faced a lot of hardship in life. Because of his step-father’s horrible nature and neglect from a worn out mom he fled to find better things in life. This lead him to the MudWing Kingdom where he was promptly arrested and charged with stealing a cow, fortunately for him he managed an escape and wearily made his way to the beaches of the SeaWing Kingdom where he met the crew! Pretty new himself he is eager to rise the ranks and become a super cool pirate, although not realizing life on the sea might not be the best for a youngster. His claws are stained from ammunition powder and he looks up to the SandWing prince (often copying him) due to their connection in species, on the other hand he’s TERRIFIED of the MudWing troop. Overall he’s a cocky, annoying kid who is in a ‘coming of age’ story currently ^^ Hope you enjoy! ❤️(BTW he wears a vest to sheild from explosions, cloth to keep frill out of his face, and crooked tail from it being stepped on!!)

Drew my favorite pair of old ladies. Nothing stops those two pirate grandmas! Drawn for @adorkastock draw everything june
Here is a bit about them:
Puyet is an elderly 70 year old half orc, with braided silvery-white hair, dark eyes, and greenish-gray skin, standing at 6'1" and 260 lbs of pure muscle to haul and power the canons. And dont let her age fool you - she may be a bit slow on the uptake, but she is quick on her legs to the point its terrifying. And with a bedazzled walking stick and a mean hidden blade and a staff, she can stand on her own in a fight.
She is also one of the most experienced pirates in the crew, a skilled actor and a master of disguise, not because of a racial ability but because of talent and experience. She is afraid of spiders, because no one is perfect. She also tends to slur words and stutter.
She tends to be suspicious of new people, but will protect people ferociously to the end of her life. As an old member of the crew, she has a never ending cautionary tales and lessons of life on the sea. She tends to take new members she sees potential in under her wing, but she gets frustrated quickly by shoddy work or craftsmanship. Most of the ship came to her in one point in their life, for comfort or help, be it with their skills or mental health ; she and her partner are the grandparents of the crew.
She doesnt talk about her past, but in long, stormy nights, when the whole crew clumps in groups and passes the time, she tells of her older sibling Rhivaun in a hushed, soft voice, a larger-than-life ambitious half-orc that believed they can change the world and got murdered for their efforts.
Luisa is an elderly half elf, standing at 173 years of age, and at about 5'3" and 158 lbs, they are the powder to Puyet's weaponry. With gray eyes, brown hair, and tan skin, and a face pierced in almost every possible place, you would think they are way younger though. Their build, lithe and scrawny but still strong, lands itself to more acrobatic aspects than hauling barrels of powder and helping to load cannons and other weaponry, but still they do.
When left to their own devices, they tend to pass the time by painting beautiful, disturbing or surrealistic things - often things they dreamt about or saw whole zoning out. They tend to be quiet, even peaceful, but they have a joke for almost every occasion that fits and many more when it does not fit, trying to lift moods by putting jokes at the center. They do love to discover new things, and research.
However much they believe in fairness now, they do admit that it wasnt all like that once. Before, with the old crew, they swindled and harmed people, innocent people, claiming it is a person fault to be gulllible. With time, they realised its not ok, and their mistakes, and they try to do better now; however, they would never forgive themselves, not fully.
