I think your takes are unique🫵. What I mean is there's something about them that sets them apart from what I've seen, and it's different in a good way. I like both your Sawyer and Doey takes.
Starting with Sawyer. I didn't recognize this was you who was the OP to it until way later. That comparison to Elliot/Prototype and Sawyer when it came to Theodore and Quinn was something I've carried with me throughout my time in the fanbase. It's a great observation. I like the doey trio's designs and headcanons. Your motive to lead the viewers gaze to Matthew's eyes worked, Jack with frostbite and the "dead" aura, Kevin's symbolising an undeserved sense of danger from the viewer, reducing him. I love when I see people bring in the viewer's psych into how they'd view characters. I do that too, so to see someone else does that as well is cool! My own observation. Your Jack in the art looks like a mascot. Some cardboard cutout that's been collecting dust for
There's this aura to it, that it still is posed the same, but there's this uncanny feeling from the stare that used to bring cartoonish love. As for the “mental nutrition” that wording hits good, like childhood that's been taken from them, and why Kevin and Matthew have less of that is because Matthew is parentified and those who are parentified miss out on that.
Admitingly, I was the anon who asked who your favorite of the doey trio is, because I wanted to draw them for you- but I've been too scared to interact directly with you. I am curious if you have headcanons for the other characters, even if they're a small character, and even their environment, but no pressure for that. I just like hearing what you got on Poppy Playtime, and I think you should know that positive thing. You gave me a good perspective change, that's cool. I probably forgot to bring something else up but o well.
Awwwww!!!! Oh my god this is so sweet thank you so much!
Don't worry about being scared, I'm still just a huge dork :P hehe
Hmm, headcanons on other characters...
I think Leith's big sense of showmanship hides a heart that is well-meaning and empathetic, but selfish enough to put that aside for his own gain. My evidence for this is that when facing the public, he's nothing but used-car-salesman pride, but in private we see him passionately angry any time the company brings harm to anyone. Though, following through on the theme of unpersoning, this care rarely carries over to the experiments. Although, in counterpoint to this, he is the only employee we have seen who refers to the experiments by their names when speaking to them. Counterpoint again, the way he asks "what's his real name again?" Seems intended to be read as careless. Although counterpoint again-again, everything Leith does is a carefully constructed persona made with the intent of never showing weakness.
Bron has a clear connection to the player, or perhaps symbolically to the concept of the employees. I can't pretend to have any sort of proper theory on the matter, but it's very interesting to me. Maybe Bron represents the "innocent" people "just following orders" who ultimately are the biggest resource a company like Playtime has. Maybe Bron represents covering up humanity in another sense, divorcing people in power from their actions.
I'm answering this ask at 3 AM so sorry for the limited amount of food ehe. This is legit one of the nicest asks I've ever gotten, tysm!
