So after 30 years, Power Rangers seems to have ended.
(Until the reboot, if that's still happening.)

I finally started writing my "power rangers zeo" fic!!
A less brief mystery of time
Summary: Tommy can't shake the feeling that he's re-living the same events over and over, but the other Rangers don't seem to notice anything wrong.
Or... if the time loop episode in zeo kept Tommy looping for much longer than just 3 times.
Power Rangers Challenge — Part I: Favorite Season
Season 4: Power Rangers Zeo
State of the Green/White Power Ranger Confusion
I loved that show, this and Batman The Animated Series were my favorite 90s shows (like, when I was a kid basically). The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, loosely based on the Japanese show Super Sentai. Now that I'm older, I can clearly see the Japanese touch in MMPR with monsters taller than buildings and the Zords (very Godzilla reminiscent). I watched the MMPR: The Movie all the time, my cousins will concur on that, but there always has been a problem that we never figured out, as it's still a subject of laughter about how "stupid" the show is about that matter:
HOW THE HELL DID THE SAME ACTOR PLAY BOTH THE GREEN RANGER AND THE WHITE RANGER???
Well my friends, I have the explanation.
This question struck me lately as I discovered the amazing Teletoon Retro channel. I literally fell in love with the channel! First, I noticed they were showing reruns of Reboot which is another of my favorite shows, then I saw Batman The Animated Series and started to watch religiously Thundercats (the 80s version). But one night, BOOM! MMPR!!! The very first episode as well! I couldn't be much happier! All the memories, the movie, calling ourselves that Ranger color of that other one when we played outside (I always chose the Green/White, my cousin the Red and his sister the Pink one).
I also remembered that we never understood why the same actor played both Green and White Ranger, as the Green suddenly disappeared. I had toys from both of them because I could never choose which one I prefer: IT WAS THE SAME GUY DAMMIT! It's like if Justin Bieber decides one day that he doesn't like his purple gear and starts wearing teal gear. Imagine a teal NY Yankees hat? I can't, I just can't.
Anyway, according to Wikipedia, at first, the Green Ranger was evil. The evil witch Rita Ripulsa kidnapped Tommy Oliver (played by Jason David Frank) and gave a bit of her powers to him, turning him into the Green Ranger, in order to defeat the Power Rangers. As the show went on, the Green Ranger finally broke free of Rita's spell, but then he started to lose his powers: Rita was actually draining it out of him because she claimed this power was hers. While this was going on, Zordon and Alpha 5 (the allies) began to create a new power coin (that's the thing they point towards the sky when they "morph") and as soon as Tommy lost all of the Green Ranger's powers, they gave him the new power coin and he became the White Ranger. He also became the new leader of the Power Rangers, succeeding the Red Ranger (he got literally pwned on this).
THERE! MYSTERY SOLVED!
... what's this? TWO MORE???
Yes my friends: the same actor (yes, again Jason David Frank) played TWO MORE POWER RANGERS!!! When the MMPR series finished (it lasted three seasons), they started another Power Rangers series called Power Rangers Zeo. It started exactly where MMPR finished, with the same cast as when MMPR finished, although they had new power coins, therefore new colors. The original series "trilogy" consisted of MMPR (3 seasons), PR Zeo (1 season) and PR Turbo (1 season, but Tommy wasn't in it). After that, almost every new series had new cast and didn't continue where the series before finished. But then KAPOW the tenth (yes 10... aired in 2004) Power Rangers series started, PR Dino Thunder, and it guest starred none other than JASON DAVID FRANK as the Black Dino Ranger. Yes, he still played the role of Tommy Oliver nearly 8 years since we last saw him! As PR Zeo, it's a new story with new cast and new enemies.
As of this year (2011), the ongoing series is a re-version (or remake) of the original MMPR. In the timeline, it's the SEVENTEENTH series. That's a lot of...
GO GO POWER RANGERS!!!!
p.s.: did you know that the actor who played the original MMPR Blue Ranger Billy Cranston, David Yost, was gay? He allegedly quit the PR Zeo show near the end because he was harassed on his sexuality on set and one time someone yelled at him "faggot" while recording. Poor guy, I even felt pity for his character! Just look at him!
