Messy handwriting but goals + checklists have been so helpful for practice - I normally bullet journal but I haven’t really used those methods with music before this.

To those to need to hear it

You got a little extra free time? Go practice! But mel, I don't have enough time to practice! A practice session doesn't have to be these long hours in the practice room, drilling away at a piece or a ton of exercises! Go pick up your instrument or warm up your voice and just.. play. Even if it's just for five minutes to run through a piece. Had a memory blank? Made a mistake? Circle it in your music and boom, you practiced. You got something done. PRACTICE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE HOURS WORTH OF WORK IT CAN LITERALLY BE FIVE MINUTES. FIVE MINUTES IS BETTER THAN NONE

Update: my teacher commended me today for the great improvements I made. I'm really happy.

finally performed the first movement of franck violin sonata. my teacher wants me to learn the rest of the three movements, which i really don’t mind having this in my repertoire of music. it’s just.... the second and third movement makes me wanna cry....

There simply is no better way to practice the Stamitz viola concerto! 🎻 I really enjoyed the view over the lake, it kinda helped me getting into the right practice mood. Do you have a favourite spot to study or practice? 💙

i'm going to be performing this bach on monday, and i've been practicing like crazy. it really payed off! this performance will be great. also my teacher added to my journal "good intonation!! keep it up" and i'm honestly so proud of myself.
