Setmana de Pràctiques i Reflexió Educatives
From 09/11 to 13/11
The PRE week is a special week that Blanquerna University offers to students of Education. During this week we attend to different activities related to our future. The topic of the week was The Refugees, that’s why all the activities we did were linked to this topic. The University chose that topic because it is something happening at that moment and they knew for sure that it would be interesting for us. Definitely it was very exciting.
The first day, two journalists that have been to Syria doing different reports about the situation came to Blanquerna to tell us about the real situation they live there. With this conference you could think so deep about the manipulation of mass media about the Refugees situation and also about the origin of this horrible war. After the conference there was a cinema activity. We watched “The History Teacher” movie. It was about a teacher who trusted her students and thanks to the trust she relied on them they got their purposes. The main point of the film is the importance of self-confidence and motivation in achieving our goals.
The second and third days we went to the practices school of our “godfather/mother” of 3rd grade. I went to FEDAC Manresa to a 1st grade of Primary class. It was such a great experience that I won’t forget. From this experience I gathered a lot of useful tips for my future as a teacher and I got in contact with the reality of a primary class. I am not accustomed to treat with kids of 1st Primary. I have always preferred older kids, but this experience taught me the good points of working with little kids and it was totally amazing and rewarding.
On Thursday we attend to a conference with the Director of Immigration in Catalonia about what is the impact of immigration in our territory and what is the forecast of the breaking news about refugees here in Catalonia. Afterwards we went to the CCCB to see a photographs exposition about immigration and poverty in different countries. It was an interesting activity too.
Finally, the last day we took part of different games, musical activities to play with students and a books exposition. You can watch a video that my group @dcastad and @laiavt did with the summary of all the activities down here.
