🙏 Well Said @beth_warren ▪️ We are praying for the Jewish Community and those affected. ▪️ Numbers 6:24-26 • The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenancec upon you and give you peace. ・・・ “Shabbat is a time for reflection. A time of peace.” . These are the first words I heard as I opened my phone after Shabbat tonight and got the alerts of the horrific hate crime in Pittsburgh. . These words were from one of the officers who is not Jewish and I thought, “He gets it, so why doesn’t everyone else?” . Shabbat, of all the times, is one where we completely disconnect from the world. . We don’t drive, turn on a light, turn on a flame to cook or touch a pencil! We go synagogue and Pray- the most peaceful, innocent act. . And a coward chooses this time to massacre... When I hear of these horrific hate crimes my instinct is to think that if people just knew and understood us more, maybe they wouldn’t hate us? . But sadly, I know this is naive. I know there is no logic to hate. 😢 One of the many things I love about being Jewish is our ability to feel for each other. . I don’t know any of the people affected personally in Pittsburgh, but I feel they are my brothers, and that’s enough. . I pledge to keep using my platform to always spread words of love and encouragement and NEVER hate in their memory. . Standing strong and proud always, and sending my love your way. May their memories be a blessing.
