Hermione was a child model. Not the creepy kind that did beauty pageants, but even as a six year old she had an impressive ability to look studious and had her picture in a couple of grade school math texts and some advertisements for healthy foods. It wasn't an important part of her life and would hardly be worth mentioning if it wasn't for the fact that Harry was so socially isolated as a child that he developed a crush on the girl in his math book.

Harry has been sitting under the Sorting Hat for over ten minutes. Not because it's hard to find his House, they sorted that out quickly. No, Harry's just the first person in ages that shares the Hat's taste in music.

A story premise for Harmony beginning pre-Hogwarts....The first time Harry exhibited accidental magic... a Potter house-elf appeared at #4 Privet drive and since the blood-wards were in force ensuring Harry had to live with Petunia to be safely hidden from the Death Eaters... the elf used an undetectable expansion charm on the cupboard under the stairs... thus making it larger than the Dursley's entire house. the Potter elf is able to access furniture and such from the Family vaults and make Harry's "room" like a manor house... Harry has to keep up the facade that being locked in the cupboard is a hardship .... sometime during these early years he meets Hermione and the elf recognizes that she is magical so helps Harry smuggle his friend into his house when she pops over for a visit not knowing the Dursleys are off with Dudders for the day...

Here's another one that popped into my head today. Voldy on a whim went after the Longbottoms first. Lily and Alice collaborated on the ritual that saved Harry in canon. So now the boy who lived is Neville. Lily is Nevilles godmother but is blocked by Augusta from taking custody through the Wizengamot. Lily at least gets visitation rights and this goes a long way to keeping Neville grounded as the two boys grow up together. The Lestranges and Crouch carry out their attack after the Potters come out from under the fidelus but the outcome is completely different when they come up against not just the Potters but the Marauders as well. Note that Peter is not outed as the spy and stands with his friends. When the two head off for school we find despite objections from Lily and James, Neville is once more given his fathers wand. Unfortunately this time it’s not Neville that is the horcrux but his father’s wand and the influence of it over the years has had an impact on Augusta’s sanity. Bumblemore is the same manipulative prick shown in canon but has no idea the wand is a horocrux and thinks it’s somehow Neville using Augusta’s sanity as his justification. Ron tries to input himself into the friends and fails. Hermione is taken under their wing and a new golden trio is formed. Pairing is HHR and Neville/Daphne Greengrass. Houses can be anything but Gryffindor, despite what Dumbles wants. Apart from that I’ll leave the rest of it open.
