Had a midwife appointment today

She reckons I’m in prodomal labour due to irritable uterus and I’m just gonna keep contracting for days or weeks without going into active labour :( screw you irritable uterus this is so exhausting.

I think it's the start

I suddenly cleaned the entire house and have been slowly developing severe back pain, and am now suffering a really tight feeling. Chase is on the phone, and I'm being out on the "expect arrival" list, so they're expecting us to arrive at the hospital in the near future

Pushes out the sides of me and the bottom of me and paddles with feet the front of me. And I just want labour to start. Mostly good and present and patient breath to breath with all the discomfort and pain, but ohhhh I want it to start. Did a FB post where it seemed like maybe it was starting so now I feel a bit embarrassed to go on there. Not much, but a little. Such a pusher! So mighty, this girl, really. Silly little thoughts because midwife and partner and friends feel she is coming and she hasn't yet, so tiny bit of self blame. But it is not about my control. And as I practice my release and opening so many subtle tendrils of that kind of psychology shit are going away. Letting what can go, go, before the new life begins.

Did a post on here about this amazing day or two of crying in my pre-labour state. Didn't save or something. Now onto some kinda naturally drugged out disassociated internal body kinda jaunt. Still contractions, pain, heartburn, bouncing and pushing baby on cervix and everywhere, aches and fat ankles, all those thingsl. And a very funny, funny outlook at the moment. Great to feel light and laughing at the world. Ha.

Pre-Labour?

I'm feeling decidedly...different today. My cramps round the back and front don't seem to be letting up, although I don't think they're regular. They don't go away if I'm walking or standing. I also just feel strange, I can't describe it really. I'm also wondering if I'm starting to leak amniotic fluid, as there seems to be a lot of...wet stuff! Nothing big and gushing though. I've also been nesting like crazy over the last 48 hours, I've made everything soooo tidy! My mood has been up and down too, I feel quite irritable and anxious which is unlike me. My cervix feels funny at points as well, achey like lots of pressure. I think I lost my mucous plug a few days ago, I don't think there was blood in it though. It was really thick and rubbery, I got excited and showed Stuart and he was really curious and not at all grossed out which surprised me, haha! I also haven't had any cramps throughout the pregnancy, it's only been the last few days, so am really hoping it's because I'm close. My stomach feels tight as well.  I've still got a couple of students today and I'm finding it a bit difficult to concentrate through them, but I kind of just want to get through it. I've got two more left and will be done at 8.30, Stuart will get home at 9.30 and then  we'll officially start our maternity/paternity leave :)  Anyway, will see how things go, am keeping my fingers crossed that this might be the start! I guess I'll know soon enough, and it could still take a while. *crosses all fingers*

36 Weeks & 3 Day Update

I've been getting a lot of cramping and back pain for the past two days now. The sensation  isn't constant but is near enough always there but very dull however is quite strong at times as if i'm having a bad period. I've also been getting more regular Braxton Hicks & more frequent toilet trips... but not to pee (sorry tmi). Jacks movements haven't slowed down though, he's still as active as ever.  Oh yes, & i've been getting very hot & flushed too. So much so my mum has even noticed and earlier i was walking around Newcastle with no coat on, wearing an off the shoulder top and everyone was walking around in winter coats...

Hopefully this is a sign things are progressing and Jack is preparing his arrival... i just want him here already <3 Any suggestions ladies or am i just over thinking things here?

Pre labour

So last night I went into pre labour, I rang my midwife and she told me to head to the hospital if my contraction got any closer together (they were 40 mins apart when I rang). They drifted down to half and hour apart and were pretty consistent in pain and I told myself if they got to 20 mins then I would head in. Well they just phased out which the midwife said might happen. I'm disappointed but at least it means bubs is just around the corner!!
