6 months in before the party split upon coming across Le'Garde in the catacombs
Cahara has gotten sepsis from a dog bite and his hand has to be amputated so his body doesnt go into septic shock and die
D'Arce develops psychosis from a vitamin-B12 deficiency and shock from a compound tibia fracture
Enki has been infected with hookworms through a maneba attack in his skin, lungs, and abdomen. He is dying of malnutrition and organ failure
Ragnvaldr has a concussion from being tackled by a guard and Bloodlust has taken over. in mostly good physical condition aside from some 2nd degree burns on his hands from cooking
1 year out of the dungeon
Cahara safely returned to Celeste with the money and a new addition to their family, the girl from the dungeon. they have a happy family in Rondon; Cahara, Celeste, the girl (who they named Mary) and their baby son, Isaac
D'Arce used Rebirth of a Loved One on Le'Garde's corpse and brought him back as a ghoul and left the dungeon together. Le'Ghoul takes over Rondon as the Yellow King and claims D'Arce as his queen, only to use her to make an heir. She tries to convince herself that he is in love with her and that this is the right thing to do but its getting harder to maintain that delusion.
Enki falls into a depression after failing to achieve enlightenment in the dungeon and tags along with Ragnvaldr and Moonless to Oldegård. they live together for a while, falling in love with each other, and get married. Ragnvaldr takes good of him, his hair stops falling out and breaking off, he's gaining weight easily, he's nourished, and he's getting regular periods for the first time in years.
Ragnvaldr starts a new life with Enki and helps in the effort of rebuilding his village after the massacre. he developed a lot of hobbies to cope with his trauma; including cooking, carpentry, and leatherworking. he still has lasting effects from his head injury, like being unable to control his emotions like is used to before, fatigue, and chronic migranes. he feels shame that he cant be strong like he used to be but Enki is there for him.
2 years out of the dungeon
Cahara and his family had to escape from Rondon as it became unsafe to live in under Le'Ghoul's reign of terror. with the help of D'Arce, they were able to escape onto a cargo ship heading towards Oldegård.
after a horrifying pregnancy with Le'Ghoul's demon spawn that left her in such bad shape her uterus had to be removed, she snapped out of the delusion she's been living in. she beat Le'Ghoul until he was unconscious and left as quickly as she could, taking her old comrade and his family with her and finding her true self along the way.
Enki is employed by a publishing house as an author while attempting to build up his own portfolio so he can be completely self-published. he is carrying larvae again but of the human variety this time, Enki and Ragnvaldr are expecting twins. the pregnancy wasnt expected as Enki thought he would have been infertile from years of disordered eating and from being so sick, but he looks forward to having students to teach.
Ragnvaldr is cautiously excited for his growing family, he can't wait to meet the babies but lives with a constant anxiety about something bad happening to Enki and their kids. he tries to tell himself that hes just working himself up over nothing but with what happened to Hilde and Bjorn, he cant help but be afraid. he's excited to be a homemaker and a Pappa to his little babies. he makes wooden baby toys to help deal with his anxiety. he just loves and cares way too much about his family it makes him crazy
im really interested in exploring family dynamics and what safety, security and the ideal home life looks like after experiencing severe trauma. what works for some doesnt work with others and everyones family dynamics are different. pregnancy and parent is beautiful for some and horrifying for others but even in that, there is beauty in horror and horror in beauty. i just find this stuff to be really interesting lol so this is my little post-game au hehehe
