Senkwehen / Prelabor
35weeks, 6 days
In the last week I’ve had some contractions every evening. In German we call them ‘Senkwehen’ (contractions to lower the head of the Baby) - I tried to find a good translation, but ‘false labor’ or ‘prelabor’ don’t really sound right to me (any other suggestions?). They can be pretty uncomfortable, but as long as they serve their purpose, it’s okay ;). I was only a bit worried that they could become ‘real’ contractions, because my husband was away on a business trip (he comes home tomorrow) and it’s still a bit early for the little one to arrive. It wouldn’t be too bad from a medical perspective, but the optimum would be after 37+0 weeks aaaand I still have some stuff to do ;). At the beginning of next week we’ll get the rest of the stuff my sister has got for us (a Maxi Cosi infant carrier, a stroller and some more things).
My energy levels vary from day to day - I try not to put too much pressure on myself, but I’m really not used to skipping things I planned to do and rest instead. Tonight I ‘won’t get old’ (german proverb for not staying up very long)...got to get up early tomorrow to pick up some friends from the airport.
