i was referred to you for a pap smear but i’m not sexually active yet… my usual doctor kinda just smiled and said it would be good

Oh hey there. 

Please, come in. Your doctor is absolutely right, the benefits of a health check up before your first sexual contact is huge. 

Oh my, you really are nervous, I can see you trembling from over here. There really is nothing to be nervous about. The manual palpation exam will not hurt at all, as long a you are cooperative and comply to my orders. The pap smear can feel a bit weird. some of my patients said they didn’t really feel a thing, just a small discomfort, really. Others experienced a short burst of pain. Bleeding usually does not occur, as long as you are very still and don’t struggle.

If you are unsure, I can give you a mild sedative before the exam starts. It will make you a bit drowsy and you will have to stay longe afterwards, for monitoring of any after effects. But we have comfortable beds in my clinic, just for these cases. 

While you make a decision please fold away your clothes. Yes, everything please. Yes…your panties as well. How else would I have a look “down there”, as you put it. 

Yes, also the bra…It’s better if you are fully naked, so I have a good view of your body during the exam. 

Let me just check my computer before we beginn…oh I just noticed you put your age into the application file, but not your pronouns. I’m sure it was the nerves that made you forget…I can just add them now.

Got myself an Easter present :). Was hard but fun!

The two weeks of Easter break flew by. I had one week off from work which I absolutely needed. But I‘m still happy to settle back into our routines. I want to do a 8km run on may 2nd. But my right knee gave me trouble the last weeks. It’s better know and I hope I can train properly (my usual distance is 5,5k).
