There is never a good time for the FE Exam - Olivier joined Prepineer and studied off and on, waiting for that “ideal time” - Working full time in the Bay Area, just living takes up 80% of your day - Having French as his native language, he sometimes doubt himself and what he could accomplish - Regardless, Olivier studied at all times of the day and night - But if I have to say what led to Olivier’s success outside the grind, was his mindset - Olivier constantly strived for quick wins and asked questions when he had them - If you look at the Prepineer forums, you will see literally dozens of questions from him - After months of studying, Olivier reached out to me (@ambitiouslynch) and said “Daniel when do you think I should take the exam?” - At this point, Olivier had studied about 60-70% of the content in our program - I have a rule that no mather what, you take the exam every 6 months - I told him that NCEES allows you to take it once per calendar quarter, so I want you to take it in September and if you dont pass we will have you take it again before the end of the year - Like many things in life, there is never a good time to do things that make us uncomfortable or nervous - Why are we so afraid of failure? - It is amazing what happens when you remove the excuses and self doubt, and just freefall - Freefall to reach goals you thought were once impossible - Long story short Olivier knew the material he had studied so well he made up for the content he had not covered yet - When he passed, I spoke with him and I could feel the energy radiating from his voice, and the ways he bad developed since starting the program. - Olivier is an EIT now, but most of all he knows there is nothing that a clear mindset and hustle can’t accomplish. - #prepineer (at Skidmore Owings & Merrill LLP)
