god finally. some news on this. i was fearful it was quietly killed. i’d love to see if robbie t and the show touches on john and likely ptsd that would be associated with a very young man being thrown into the vietnam war and coming home to an anti-war atmosphere, far detatched from the “glory days” of WW2.

Me a lover of Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, and a equal amount of both a lover and hater of the Jedi Order, seeing people that

1) Completely villainize people that like Anakin (for things like understanding the abuse, grooming , and mental health issues he has) and don't understand that his character is literally just an exaggeration of mental illness and trauma symptoms

2) hate call people that love obi-wan essentially abusers which 🤢 and fail to understand that was a truamatized barely not child given a truamatized child when he never got help for his own truama and just saw his essentially dad, who was a shitty one at times, die

3) blame Ahsoka for leaving, when she was a literal kid thats been put on a war zone, and dissowned by her family and could've been killed via foreign squad. Like I love Anakin but he's a grown ass adult, its not Ashoka's job to stay and help support the adults. It was their job to support her, and Anakin and Obi may have tried but if she felt safer leaving that's understandable.

4) so many of y'all show clear racism, I mean some people's attitudes to the clones are disgusting and also for those that hate Ashoka for dumb things, I'm pretty sure it's cause she just reminds them of woman of color. Smh

5) Also people the attachment discourse 😭Like both sides are right, like the original meaning obv. Was the do not obsess. But at the same time when you're also telling the ex slave kid to let go his attachment to his slave mom it becomes less about obsession and more about love. So their were obviously misunderstandings involved and people not understanding cultural differences between views.

6) now this is the important one

To anyone defending the Tusken Massacre literally just fuck you. Like as an indigenous person I have to literally pretend that the whole involvement with the Tuskens don't exist. Literally I understand and connect with Anakin for lots of reasons but I could not if I did not ignore that scene for my own mental health.

Because y'all defending the scene the colinizer wrote that is essentially 'indigenous people are savages and hurt someone and so the protagonist has to commit a mini genocide to make things right" is literally the same thing that white man learned about in 5th grade during Columbus day. You defending that racist shit is horrifying and gross as fuck.

people are talking about how a mindwipe is such a lazy option for John not knowing Mary is a hunter, and I AGREE, and i am also 98% sure it's not going to be a mindwipe - at least, not between 1972 and 1973. So while we don't know if the show is going to do the 4.03/1973, this whole post is gonna assume that they are.

Though the idea of John going through repeated mindwipes is hilarious, it is kind of lazy, and Robbie Thompson, our FRIEND, isn't lazy. He's fun, he's innovative, he likes a loophole. So I found one for him.

Why do we assume that in 1973 John doesn't know Mary's a hunter? I allowed myself to puruse the episode. The only evidence I can find that might imply that is Mary saying:

MARY Okay, wait. There's things you don't know about me, John.

SUSPICIOUS! Is what I would say if I haven't read the summary for SPNWIN, which says:

Secrets run deep? Deeper than hunting, mayhaps? This isn't the only thing that leads me to believe there will be no mindwipe between the years, for example we have no actual proof that John doesn't know about hunting. Him being confused about Dean asking about sulfur and cold spots might just be because this random stranger that may or may not be stalking him is asking him weird questions. During the diner conversation with Mary, he just offers to talk to Mary's dad about their relationship. Samuel implies during the dinner with Dean that he thinks John is a civilian, which could just be the cover Mary and John used because John is a Men of Letters and they're notorious for not liking hunters. And that's basically it for John not knowing about hunting things. There's actually a scene that leads me to believe Robbie might incorporate:

MARY runs up to JOHN and throws herself into his arms.

JOHN Hey, you – you okay?

MARY You promised you'd take me away.

JOHN Of course I did.

MARY Do it now.

Mary in the prequel wants out. She wants to leave the life. Maybe John promises to take her out of it? Come on, it'd be cute. See the country together.

Then again, I have no idea what's going to happen. Jensen said it'd be twists and turns to arrive at something instead of using the straight road. I'm excited.

This is regarding if CBS and WB are working together on the Winchester's. I got curious and decided to research and see if WB and CBS had worked together in the past, or if CBS had worked with the CW. It turns out that CBS did co produce TVD and the spin-off the originals. From what I gathered it was a deal; basically saying that CBS will let them borrow one of their lots to shoot their episodes, in exchange for a percentage of the profits both shows will make. So, it could be a possibility that WB doesn't have a production lot in New Orleans, which is where the Winchesters is supposed to be shooting, and that CBS and WB struck a deal. Or they could just be working together and could possibly give Jensen the team of professionals he needs, like Jared has.

Yeah, CBS & WB have worked together before.

CBS doesn't need to work with WB for Jared to appear on the show. Jared's contract isn't exclusive or he'd already be in violation of it because he's already working on another project with no CBS.

Most people think that Jared will appear on the show, but that's independent of CBS.

Ackles also don’t own property in Louisiana, nor have they changed their residence to Louisiana (must own property to do so). If they were residents, they could get up to 45% in tax credits for production costs. Which is huge. Non residents get up to 30%. They could get the local studio (I speculate it will be a CBS studio) and they could file for tax credits thru them versus Chaos/Ackles. 

Deep South Productions and Second Line Stages have done tv/film for both WB and CBS studios (plus paramount and others). Second Line is a boutique version of the Warner Bros lot in Nola. These aren’t the only two. But the larger studios in Nola. My guess Ackles will hire one of these.

Windy doesn't have a location yet. Shooting starts mid-March, and I heard from two different sources that permits are typically filed a month in advance, so we will likely see those permits soon. Jared bought up a bunch of land that he might be using for Windy. I try to stay away from that type of stuff because it's invasive, but someone popped into my DMs with that information and it makes sense based on location. No, I’m never going to say where.

No permits for New Orleans doesn't necessarily mean anything because The Winchesters is scheduled for April.

Casting anon- From someone who worked in the industry:

We occasionally booked celebrities and I was told that unless it was a A-list celebrity, most people are booked last minute. We booked Katie Sackhoff a couple of weeks before we filmed, and she was just coming off Battlestar Galactica. On the other hand, development used to create packages, which is apparently the way to finance movies and pilots. The idea was to ‘attach’ a hot director or an actor to a script and sell the package.

This person also said that January is normally when Pilots are filmed and sometimes they book the director of a January in December.
