my boss hired ppl she knew. in fact i got that job because she reached out to my friend asking if she might have anyone in mind.

anyways. this chick my boss hired (lets call her Brandy), was renting an in-law suite from my boss. She lived there with her boyfriend. Her boyfriend and my boss's husband were best friends.

Brandy's boyfriend was renting there before she moved in.

Anyways my boss later hires Brandy's best friend (Tiff). My boss knows her best friend. Why? Brandy's boyfriend was fuck buddies with Tiff and Tiff used to stay there. Brandy met her bf through Tiff.

One day Brandy doesn't show up for work. My boss goes home and learns Brandy and her bf had moved out because the bf & boss's husband had a falling out.

Brandy skips out on like 2 months of rent as well.

Imagine coming into work every morning seeing your former landlord who you owe rent to. I would have quit out of shame.

Imagine having to work with the dumb bitch who owes you back rent and then she has the audacity to ask for pay advance??? (I know how much the rent cost cus Brandy had told me before things went south. it was such a good deal.)

Sometimes I miss making coffee for people (although, not talking to them). It is a quite calming process, even when you need to do it a bit faster than usual. If I'm not disturbed, I'll make it with all care I can. Maybe even draw a cat if I have more time.

POV: you are someone’s boss. You told your staff to call or text you as soon as they find out they cannot come to work, saying “obviously if it’s 2am and you are throwing up just send me a text I will see in the morning, I wake up early”. You find one employee’s calling-in procedure lacking. You decide to include all your feelings in the text while employee is still sick (instead of saving it for a follow up later). You decide it makes sense to tell the employee that, well, if YOU sacrifice your health for your job, THEY should too, and you just HAAAAVE to remind them of this right?

It’s not easy being someone’s boss. I had to fire a single woman and it changed me. There are bad bosses and good bosses, and those in between. There are bosses who are in charge of everything and are indispensable, but in more of a, “has to be hands on all the time because of a underlying lack of trust” and also because the company kind of sucked. I heard this all the time from leadership “I cam to work with a migraine so bad I thought I was going to throw up, and I still took 100 phone calls! Just wear sunglasses to look at the computer”. Maybe just say HR has a shit policy? Maybe be honest about sick point penalties, instead of shaming employees when they do feel sick?? Maybe don’t brag that you cannot afford to miss work?

I texted my boss once when I realized I wasn’t going to be going to work…. And she was like, oh it made me sleepless. Do you know what sleep notifications are (I’ve seen your google calendar BIIIIIIH I know you can figure out your phone notifs).

Anyways. Deleting this stupid screenshot off my phone now.
