Prey mantis Ootheca on some kousa dogwoods or white flowering dogwood. Brought a couple home with me to hatch there was probably about 5 on each dogwood we got from Oregon.

PSA- if you see these on your trees or near your garden leave them alone! Prey mantis are carnivores and will eat problem insects in your garden. Plus are always fun to see.

June 20 2017 Oh MAN! A few weeks ago I seen a super tiny baby prey mantis outback.. Now I've been a bigger one, how cool is that?! The bugs took over my Arugula, so I plucked it out of the garden. I apparently forgot one! These flowers are quite cute. I also stole some walking onions from the neighbours, and it's doing fantastic!

Yesterday evening I was ripping apart a shelving unit outside for Justin, as I was unscrewing I seen a little bug frantically running about..

I got closer to inspect it, and it was a BABY PREY MANTIS!!!

oh man, it was so cute AND SOOOO TINY!

Update: I did relocate him to another part of the garden, so he was safe! I hope to his brothers and sisters later this summer!
