#pride project

Nothing like some midnight insomnia induced weaving. Tension sucks and will probably restart tomorrow but it feels nice to be weaving something again.

Time for a pride month spinning project!

You may recall my excitement when this lovely bundle of floof arrived:

And it's been barely a week and I've been spinning my socks off! It's whitefaced woodland fibre, which I've not tried before and while not the softest it makes up for itself in sheer volume. It's the squishyest fibre I've ever used, similar to Southdown with lots of crimp and texture.

I wanted to keep the lovely gradient of the flag so I split the braid in half lengthways and spun it up as two of the same singles. I think I did somehow manage to flip one of them so the colours don't line up perfectly but that does give some lovely barber-polling and masks where I spun one single longer than the other (lol)

Love how it turned out! Going to knit it into a scarf I think, keep the gradient as clean as I can so you really get the full effect. Happy pride y'all

This rainbow pom pom jacket thing is getting serious.

Checking my inventory of yarn now. Great thing about pom poms is that I can use whatever the fuck kinda yarn I happen to have. Doesn't matter if they aren't the same type. Obviously I have enough yellow, but I'll definitely need more blue and purple, and some more bright red/orange. But that's still a sizeable amount of yarn that I don't have any plans for and could use for this project.

Even checked my storage sack of clothes that should be rehomed but is just sitting there... and found a couple options that might work as a base for all those pom poms.

And I'm already binging Naked and Afraid anyway, so cranking out tons of pom poms while watching will at least make me feel productive.

Tommy broke up with him and Eddie left for Texas, and Buck feels little lost and lonely in LA. When Chris suggests he should maybe go away for a bit himself the idea doesn’t leave him. From El Paso he starts heading east. He’s not entirely sure what he’s looking for this time, but he didn’t know that the last time either and at least this time he’s not sleeping in his car.
