Acquired a new art form, because I'm prideful and my greed knows no bounds (◡‿◡✿)
(weavers of Tumblr, how does it look for a third ever attempt)
Look at this!!!
LOOK AT IT!
ITS FROGS!
I MADE THEM!
WITH TABLET WEAVING!!!!
I FOLLOWED A PATTERN!
AND IT TURNED OUT WELL!
Heck YEAH!
Two years ago I watched one video on tablet weaving, and the craft stayed inside my mind since, festering until I couldn't handle it anymore. I had to weave!!
My best friend VERY kindly made my simple loom design come to life, and well... you will now find me beneath my funky orange blanket weaving until my hands are red raw and my back screams in agony.
This is my second go at weaving, and I refuse to be convinced otherwise that weaving is in my blood because how is it going so well? What magic has imbued my fingers to create such consistent work? Whatever it is, I am proud of my new belt I'm making!
I used yarn and colours cotton 4 ply yarn in khaki and ecru, off-white cotton warp thread, and followed the four hole pine pattern on twistedthreads!
Latest project/experiment: A little purse made from woven bands that I stitched together.
Originally, this post was going to go way in depth about how this project is so different from the original design, and was going to make disclaimers about every little flaw that probably only I see.
But then I took a step back and thought about how fricking cool it is that I just *made fabric* and then *made it into an actual little thing*.
It’s my first time trying something like this, and I think my perfectionism was really getting to me, but I’m quite proud of my slightly-wonky pouch, even if it’s not exactly what I’d hoped it would be.
I don’t know what I’ll use it for, though…
i made this with my hands.
card weaving wip
After a few false starts, the band is well under way. I’m still not convinced I made a good decision using black instead of a dark chocolate for the border/triangles, but regardless the overall pattern is lovely.🥰
Very upset that I cannot find where the heck I put this thing. Made out of something called Milk Cotton yarn? Truly dont know. Its SO SOFT and squishy bc its 4 layers due to the way tablet weaving makes thicker bands than inkle weaving.
