good news, i have in fact been spinning for Tour de Fleece

meh news, i have not been posting about it because i'm tired

so here's a day whatever it is round up of some yarns i have recently plyed. haven't gotten around to washing them yet but i'm happy with them all

okay so post-TDF i'm now planning to make a tips and tricks for spinning two ply gradients so that the colors match up

Today vs yesterday’s spinning

this messed up vintage cat sewing pattern has tormented me since i saw it & like some other folks have done in that post - i tried my hand at tweaking the pattern to resemble the illustration (and my personal tastes) a little more. i've ended up with this, which i have only tested at a small scale and not this final version exactly (where i have done such things as further widening the cheeks and finalizing the leg shapes.) i bestow it upon you nice folks now 👐

go forth and make weird little beanbag kittens! pls show me if you do!

woah this got big!! and after another try i have another untested tweak for yall. this should help the weird pinchy side seams out. yey

My first attempt! I made the pattern a bit smaller as I wanted it to be able to fit in a pocket, but then (accidentally but perhaps unavoidably) sewed it with a wider seam allowance than the resized pattern indicated, so the face is proportionally a bit too big and I lost some detail in the ear shape. I'm pleased with it though! It was fun to make something and to do some handsewing.

Sorry for the lack of activity, I've not been crafting much lately and am struggling big time mentally, sadly as cute as my emotional support creatures are they can't fix my brain.

I used the Robin colourway from WYS to make the chickens :)

I love that, it works so well! It just amuses me because that is not a regulation robin, and yet the colours work. Their colourways are so distinctive I don't feel too bad about recognising it immediately.

I love their yarns and I always find myself recognising the wood pigeon colourway easily so I get it. I have an ongoing project where I'm gunna make a pair of vanilla socks from every single one of their bird yarns and then I can mix and match. Trying to find ways to use up the leftover after the socks are done which resulted in the chickens, it really did work perfectly for them XD
