"You children have no idea what you’ve done! Marcus was a traitor—he would’ve handed Brindleton Bay to the Anarchs! Their filth is already tainting Oasis Springs, San Myshuno, New Crest, Del Sol Valley and San Sequoia. I’d rather die to let them this close to the Ventrue Manor."
"Funny. The real traitor seems to be the one who framed a former Primogen with forged evidence."
"Would you like to hear your confession again?"
"Victor... You shouldn’t have brought them here."
"So. My Seneschal informs me you’ve found evidence linking the Anarchs to Marcus’s death. Show me."
"We didn’t. Because it was Victor."
"Ah. Now I remember! Victor warned me of Marcus’s treason. I merely instructed him to... take care of it."
"‘Take care of it’? That’s his defense?"
"Silence! The word of a Seneschal outweighs the delusions of neonates!"
"Marcus was exposing Victor’s damn blood experiments!"
"This is not parliament, girl. Your opinion is worth less than the dirt beneath my boot."
"This accusation should cost your lives. But I’ll blame your... youth. Cross me again, and I’ll have my Sheriff to behead you."
(The coterie slumps into stools at the Anarch bar, drinks in hand.)
"To almost getting killed by a Prince!"
"Next time, let’s frame Victor for tax evasion. Less lethal."
"The recording’s safe. And copied. Lacroix won’t protect Victor forever."
Sebastian Lacroix, C.E.O. of the LaCroix Foundation and one of L.A.’s Businessmen of the Year according to this year’s report.
So much of his career has been covered by the media since the founding of the LaCroix Foundation a couple of years ago, but very little is known about the man himself.
So, the question on everyone’s minds is: Who is Sebastian LaCroix?
“You become strong by defying defeat and by turning loss and failure into success.”
Few details are known about the past of the elusive C.E.O., but those seem to be the words he has lived his life by.
After joining the army at a young age, LaCroix served for several years, dreaming to one day return home to a good life. However, it was not meant to be, as upon his return he discovered his family had fallen into serious financial troubles.
After many, ultimately futile, attempts to restore his family’s fortune, it seemed fate had dealt LaCroix a terrible hand. However, his luck would take a turn for the better a few years later, when, with the patronage of a Belgian noble whom he had impressed, LaCroix would leave France to seek his fortune in Great Britain.
Leaving the only home he had known to go to Great Britain was a gamble, but it was that very gamble that served at the basis for his career in business; a career which ultimately led him to America, where he would go on to establish the LaCroix Foundation and make a name for himself as one of L.A.’s most renowned and successful businessmen.
“Be wary of what your own eyes show you, even in the modern nights. Things are rarely what they seem.”
Those are LaCroix’s enigmatic parting words to us. And though we can only hope to interpret them in our own ways, we can only hope that the true meaning behind them will aid the young C.E.O. in retaining his success for the years to come.

Good evening, Prince. We do not know each other. My name is Rhodes.
I have come to your city to conduct with some matters of a literary affair with one in your domain. I shall not overstay my welcome, but I have no definite plans on how long it shall keep me here. I’ve come as custom to present myself to you, as according to tradition.
