Remember how you were asking if I was gonna join the Edit Challenge on Amino?
At last minute I decided:
Yes. Yes I will.
So have this little EclipsaFee WIP!
A teenage Disgrace!Eclipsa; WIP for my AU.
Got the idea for this outfit from @mewnifashion's blog!
Georges Hobeika Fall/Winter 2018/19 for Princess Eclipsa Butterfly
a fun little AU I have where Solaria is Eclipsa’s mother
Fun fact about Disgrace!Toffee (well, it starts out fun and slowly gets depressing):
He loves dancing. When he was a kid, his mother always encouraged healthy self-expression, and one way was that she and her son danced together a lot. But as a teenager, Toffee went to bonfire parties a lot with Eclipsa and Globgor, and Globgor always assumed Toffee didn't like dancing because he always stayed on the sidelines. One day, Toffee says he loves dancing; he just hates bonfires.
It sorta became a running gag to find out why, but Toffee always gave a vague answer or changed the subject. They finally got their answer two weeks after Toffee killed Solaria: he hates bonfires because he watched Solaria and her warriors dance around burning corpses the night his parents were maimed.
Does anyone remember that really old theory that Toffee is a spell that gained sentience and went rogue?
These last few episodes, specifically A Spell With No Name and Doop Doop, got me thinking about it again. Now that we know some spells can have minds of their own and can exist outside the wand on their own, I can't stop imagining a backstory where Toffee is the first spell Eclipsa ever made, just like Doop Doop is to Star.
So imagine the day she inherits the wand: what's her first thought, the first thing she does immediately the moment she has her own magic power for the first time? Why, use it to more efficiently hang out with Globgor, of course! Her first spell is a shape-shifting spell, so she can slip into monster territory in plain sight instead of sneaking around. But she doesn't specific what kind of monster she wants to turn into, so she turns into a random one: a Septarian.
Being the candy lover that she is, she goes with the first word that comes to mind as her fake name. Her alias is "Toffee", and she uses this alias to sneak into monster territory and spend time with Globgor and other monster friends. But she quickly grows bored of her First Spell, thinking it more fun and dangerous to sneak around without a disguise, and so doesn't use it again. Meanwhile, inside her wand, her First Spell wonders what his purpose is now that he's been outgrown. Either Eclipsa goes inside her wand to find out, or she links to her wand in a dream-state and doesn't realize what she's doing, but she tells her First Spell that he can do whatever he wants; forge his own purpose.
Through her words, she unknowingly sets him free from the wand. Her First Spell has gained sentience, and is now rogue. Over time, he gains flesh and blood like a normal monster. He gains a form much like the one Eclipsa took when she used him, and so too he uses the alias she chose for that form. Although he's trying to choose a destiny for himself, he also knows his purpose above all is to protect Eclipsa and her legacy. This includes keeping her safe from the Darkest Spell that could destroy all dimensions if it ever went rogue.
When that Darkest Spell was used on his own body, instead of being destroyed at first, his finger simply returned back to his place of origin: inside the wand. And when he went back to the Realm of Magic, when, you could say, he went back home, he gave up his flesh and blood and returned to his true form.
