which is the fic you’re most proud of? i recently took a glance at my treasure planet one-shot collection, permit me a father fantasy, again, and decided it was all right!!! also the glow of my trolls one-shot, normal, hasn’t quite faded yet lmao.
which is your least favorite? i’m not fucking linking to that monstrosity, just know it begins with an “over” and ends with “achiever”.
if you were to recommend one to read to your mom? ugh... i’m not sure
which one would you consider rewriting? ashes and wolfsbane. i had fun playing around w/ the universe i set up in both, but the writing and characterization were both pretty lacking.
biggest regret in a fic? losing the motivation for a fic i was really excited about when i started it
biggest success with a fic? ugh, probably overachiever or to be loved the way you love me. spoiler, neither deserved it.
your fic with the most notes: i don’t post fics on tumblr, so i can’t really answer. my fic with the most views though is to be loved the way you love me, clocking in at 430k+ hits.
your fic with the least notes: again, no fics on tumblr, but in terms of views, probably any of my harry potter fics. ((not linking ‘cause they’re all awful)). they all pulled through with a little over 100 hits each.
what do you think makes a good fic? tips? honestly, i’m still learning myself. i don’t think i’m qualified to give advice to anyone just yet, and like as not, i never will be. the closest i can come to writing advice is just ... just throw yourself into it, i guess. literally throw everything you’ve got into it, all your anger or pain or joy or literally whatever you need to get out of you, get it out of you, and get it onto the page. you’ll feel better, and you’ll come back one day and be glad you created that. ((my fic, permit me a father fantasy, isn’t perfect, it isn’t even that good, it’s essentially just a whole bunch of word-vomit, but it was everything i was feeling at the time, and now it stands as one of the only fics i still genuinely like.))
when’s the next update on your works? hoping to get a new chapter of both the show starts now and permit me a father fantasy up in the next two weeks!!
number of followers before you started writing and after? i started posting my fics before i joined tumblr, so i really can’t say!!
which character do you love writing for? honestly i love them all, but i’ll admit here i have a slight weakness for jim hawkins from treasure planet and branch from trolls - they’re both a lot like me, so i feel i have an easier time getting inside their heads, and they both have this dry, sarcastic wit that helps me play other characters off them.
which character do you dislike writing for? i love all of them, tbh!!! i will admit i find it ... difficult to write poppy as easily as i write branch, but that doesn’t mean i love her any less!! we’re just very different people, and i have a harder time relating to her, or connecting with her thoughts. i still adore her as a character, and dreamworks has my enduring respect for keeping her cute, extroverted, and fun without making her irritating or childish.
what’s your favorite au to write for? okay so i admit i have a special weakness for high school and college aus lmao xDDD but being a history geek, i also love medieval era aus and anything set in the 1920s.
what’s your least favorite au to write for? ‘everything’s the same, but everyone’s a cat/dog/horse’.
what do you hope never gets requested? due to time constraints, i don’t take requests, so i’m afraid this doesn’t apply to me!!
what do you wish was requested more? again, i don’t write requests!!
thoughts on writing smut/poc/curvy/mxm/fxf? tbh i don’t generally write smut just because i’m not big on the romance scene. if i find something i really ship ((*cough* branch/poppy *cough*)) i suppose i could be persuaded, but it’s just not my preference. as for slash or femslash, again, i’m not into romance, and tend not to ship things unless they’re canon ((and we know most slash ships are not lmao)). but i do think solangelo from percy jackson is fuckin adorable.
which account is your biggest inspiration in writing? oh gosh so many!! i think my top three though are @lenle-g @lovelydisarray and @loopstagirl!! their stuff is always so beautiful!! their work never fails to remind me how far i have to go before i can truly consider myself a writer, and inspires me to work even harder on my next piece!!
how long have you been a fic writer? 12 years. still got a long way to go!!
any upcoming secret works? they’re not exactly secrets, considering i tell everyone who will listen lmao xD but yes, i do have some things coming up!! whenever i finish up the show starts now, i’m planning some multi-chapter fics for my hero academia and merlin. and of course, one-shots galore for treasure planet and trolls.
