Virgil and Roman sat on the couch cuddling. Virgil was leaning against the arm of the couch with his legs stretched out in front of him on the couch watching YouTube on his phone. Roman was sitting in Virgil's lap, leaning against his chest and mindlessly tracing patterns on his arm. Virgil had his arm wrapped around Roman, whose head was resting on Virgil's shoulder.
For the past few days, the song "Fireflies" by Owl City had been stuck in Roman's head, and he was currently humming the song to himself. This made Virgil grin, as he could both hear Roman humming and feel the vibrations in his chest.
When Roman finished humming the song for the third time in a row, he looked up at Virgil, placing a gentle kiss on his neck.
"Virgil," Roman complained. "I'm boooorrrreeeed...."
"Then find something to do," Virgil responded, his attention never leaving his phone.
Roman huffed, thinking of something that both of them could do. After a few seconds, he gasped.
"Can we play hide and seek?" he asked, looking back up at Virgil.
"Just, a minute, Love," Virgil said, rubbing Roman's back. "I'm almost done with this video."
"Alright, Sweetheart," Roman sighed.
Suddenly, Roman had an idea and smirked. Turning his head, he started placing kisses at the base of Virgil's neck. Virgil blushed, heat creeping up his face. Yeah, they had kissed before, but it still made Virgil blush.
When Roman noticed Virgil's blush, he chuckled and went back to kissing him.
A minute or two later, Virgil's video ended, but Virgil was reluctant to let Roman know. Although he was hesitant to admit it, he rather enjoyed Roman's affection.
Virgil didn't have to worry about telling him because, as soon as the video finished, Roman noticed and grinned up at Virgil.
"Can we play hide and seek, now?" he asked.
Looking down at Roman, Virgil smiled at the childish look on his face and nodded, which made Roman's face light up even more, if that was even possible.
Chuckling slightly at his boyfriend, Virgil closed his eyes and started counting.
"One... two... three..."
Grinning like an idiot, Roman dashed out of Virgil's lap before tip-toeing down the hall. Upon reaching Virgil's room, he opened the door quickly, knowing that it would creak loudly. Hoping this was enough to throw Virgil off of his trail, Roman backtracked to the bathroom, where he effortlessly got into the tub and hid behind the shower curtain.
"Twenty-eight... twenty-nine... thirty! Ready or not, here I come!" Virgil shouted from the living room.
Roman froze, trying his gosh-darn hardest to stay absolutely still, which included taking very shallow breaths.
Virgil was just about to get up to look for Roman when he remembered the song he had been humming. A sly grin made its way onto Virgil's face before he shouted, "You would not believe your eyes~"
"IF TEN MILLION FIREFLIES~" Roman shouted instinctively before quickly slapping his hand over his mouth when he realized what he had done.
"Dang it, Virgil," Roman mumbled to himself as he heard Virgil's footsteps coming down the hall.
Upon reaching the bathroom, Virgil walked over to the shower curtain and yanked it to the side.
"Found you," Virgil said with a smirk when he saw Roman standing in the middle of the tub pouting.
"You're lucky that I love you so much," Roman said as he got out of the tub. "It keeps me from being mad at you."
