Some of you may have seen my post about the federal prison librarians’ jobs being saved and the message on the topic from the Book Clubs For Inmates program (this link includes a link to where you can donate to support the program, by the way!).
Well, today I’d like to introduce you to another cool literacy program for Canadian inmates: Children of Inmates Reading Program, or ChIRP.
Every month, incarcerated folk get help from volunteers to pick out a book out of the program’s curated list to make a recording of them reading the book aloud to the child(ren) in their lives. The child then gets the recording as well as a copy of the book so that they can read along.
All this is sweet enough as is, but to make things even sweeter, this month, kids in the program will get a little something extra to celebrate the start of summer break.
All inmates will be reading The Very Cranky Bear by Nick Bland, and on top of getting a copy of the book, the kiddos will also receive a teddy bear stuffie!
Programs like these are critical for the mental health of both the children and inmates, as they allow them to bond even though they’re apart, which helps alleviate stress, anxiety, and depression for everyone involved. Based on studies I’ve read in the past, these kinds of programs also work wonders to help reduce the chances of the inmates ending up back in prison, as they’re a great help in easing the transition from prison life back into their families’ lives when they get out.

I have arrived.
After the arrest, I waited 14 long months for the trial. Knowing the jury held the fate of the rest of my life. I guess they found it wasn't worth much, as they sentenced me to 20 years in prison.
And now I'm here. Home sweet home...
It's pretty damn hard to walk down the steps in legions. Do the guards have to be so rough??
This is the last post yall are getting before I go too clinic smiles
[GENERAL ROBLOX HEADCANONS, WILL MENTION THE GAME/S MENTIONED AT THE START] [asker refers to himself plurally, in case there's any confusion shdhhdbf]
hiho we have this little au thing we like to rotate in our head that's basically if Roblox was a whole planet smiles. here's some worldbuilding we did for it !
- [GROW A GARDEN] grow a garden and other gardening games are all relatively well-known because of the generosity of farmer jandel, despite his rather rough reputation for creating such a noisy crowd, as every saturday everything under his names in Gardening Industries or wtv tf gets a massive discount while also being incredibly valuable. this absolutely CRASHES the stock market like 99% of the time, which ends up with various areas being flooded with traffic* from robloxians trying to make it to the GaG for that sweet discount
^* traffic as in literal traffic. vehicles are everywhere and business (games) barely get any revenue because of every single road flooded with cars 💔
- [SCARY SUSHI, PRESSURE, SURVIVE AND KILL THE KILLERS IN AREA 51] in robloxia, scary sushi is one of the many closed restaurants forcibly shut down after news spread about The Shit They Were Doing. one of the many companies that assisted in the legal work of shutting it down was the Hadal Blacksite, and although it legally doesn't own Scary Sushi, it has it under its supervision. (Survive and Kill the Killers in) Area 51 also assisted in the legal shit and is currently undergoing a massive process in trying to contain the creatures inside before the Hadal Blacksite can
- [SUSHI GAMBIT] the Hadal Blacksite along with other mildly illegal organizations all share Sushi Gambit as a free job option for prisoners who did their parts, so long as they keep quiet
- there are multiple kinds of robloxians, with 2 main gene types (R6 and R15)
- [FORSAKEN] Forsaken still works the same as it does in-lore, though not everyone in it is currently captured in the present day. Where it's at now, the start of the plotline has only just begun
- [PHIGHTING!] The Inpherno is one massive country with 5 main cities and a lot of tourist attractions mainly done because of the known existence of gods. Why isn't it a continent, you ask? It may be huge, but it's not that big (using New Crossroads as reference). Inphernals are mostly found there, but there are some outside of the country, they're just not a very common sight.
- [PHIGHTING!, NATURAL DISASTERS SURVIVAL, SUPER BOMB SURVIVAL, JAILBREAK, PRISON LIFE, PRESSURE] natural disasters survival is held up in the air by Windforce and is a well-known mortality attraction made by inphernal demideity pennamed StickMasterLuke somewhere above where Playground resides. Super Bomb Survival by Polyhex Attractions is Also somewhere near the Inpherno, but underground and very much underwater. nobody outside of select groups know this but it's also, very fucking unexpectedly, under contract with Jailbreak Robloxia and Prison Life (and. you'll never guess it. Hadal Blacksite*. the two aforementioned ones do not know about its involvement) as an alternative way to punish prisoners
^* the Hadal Blacksite is involved because SBS is one of the ways they get willing subjects to go through The Horrors
- [DOORS, 3008, SCP Foundation] The Hotel (DOORS) is like the digital circus/backrooms of Robloxia. unlike the main game, there are whole civilizations filled with robloxians who came and got stuck inside, and the same thing goes with 3008, though almost every person inside was an employee for either the SCP Foundation or Area 51 (they're under mutual contract)
- [THE SEWERS, BLOXBURG, GREENVILLE] it's. still the Sewers. LMFAO. the Sewers is a large civilization made by and for homeless people under Bloxburg and almost extending all the way to Greenville
that's all we made for now... grins so nicely :] sorry if it's long we LOVE making worldbuilding for massive games hhehehehfb
(THE INBOX IS OPEN! please send some headcanons in!!)
THIS IS SO MUCH I LOVE THIS...? UGH. I LOVE THE IDEA THAT ALL ROBLOX GAMWS R CONNECTED. BEAUTIFULLLLL
