Apparently Bluesky is now requiring age verification for people who live in Texas. I've seen reports that it asks for SSN or credit card as some options.
This is a violation of privacy. If Bluesky is doing this in some areas, when it lied to us and claimed it was going to be everything Twitter abandoned, I no longer support Bluesky.
No social media may require your identification. You are allowed to be anonymous everywhere. Anyone who dictates otherwise, for any reason, is lying to you.
