Like, this person can't be serious. What leads to death for Eleven, Will and Steve ?

She just said that because their are some favorite of fans. Not because their arcs logically leads to death.

Eleven, who's had a pretty miserable life overall and never really found peace even after finding people to love her, has an arc that she believes leads to her death just because the story started with her ?

The same goes for Will ; he's a character whose suffering, like Eleven's, never truly ended throughout the entire show. I'm talking on a very deep level. Plus, he's the only queer character besides Robin. And his character arc leads to his death ? That's a joke.

The real logic behind these two kids' character arcs is that they find peace in their lives after getting rid of the source of their suffering. Not that they die to get rid of it. If that's the case, it would send a very bad message.

And Steve... What logically leads to his death ? Dying a hero to truly become one ? Completing his redemption ? He's already a hero. And he's already achieved redemption. And to have him die after bringing back the love triangle between Nancy, Steve, and Jonathan, in a way that clearly points to a Stancy endgame from a purely narrative standpoint, Steve's death makes absolutely no sense. Besides, it would repeat the pattern of Eddie death for Dustin. There's literally zero point to it.

Again, the only logical deaths would be :

One or more of the new main characters from season 5, as they do every season (Bob in season 2, the scientist in season 3, Eddie in season 4).

Honestly, one of Mike and Nancy's parents to show the seriousness of the situation. The father. Or the mother, if the theory about her connection to Vecna ​​is true.

Murray, because overall, we don't really care about him. He's pretty much a minor character, without ever having a real arc. But he's a main character, so it could work.

And maybe Jonathan. Not because I want to see him die. But because of all our truly main characters, he's the only one who's stagnated since the beginning of the show. He hasn't really evolved.

Like @more-than-a-trope said : Jonathan could died protecting his brother ? I mean, he’s not really grown in the last season and with the big divided between Jancy is it not possible for him to do a heroic thing ? This is all speculative at this point. I don’t think Eleven will die. I think she has a greater chance of forever losing her powers than anything. I also think if Steve was going to die he would have been killed already, hell they could have had him die instead of Eddie and Eddie kind of fill in for Steve, but it didn’t happen.

I stand by that. Killing Eleven, Will, or Steve makes no sense from a narrative standpoint. Neither do killing Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Erica, Max, Robin, Nancy, Hopper, or Joyce.

And again, Stranger Things is a work of fiction. Not real life. Even if it's also a show that takes real world discrepancies and depicts them in fantasy settings, and that it is part political (like every kind of story) ; That still doesn't change the fact that the main theme remains is about the power of friendship and found family, it is about love overcoming evil. And that the characters still have arcs. And again, nothing in the characters' arcs would logically lead to their deaths. It would just be gratuitous.
