Another thing I got out of jinx was that Brian wasn't cut out to be a firefighter. But you know someone who was though? A certain Buck. He went from the academy to being a probie to being a 'senior / elder' to the probie and his short stint as a fire marshal before returning. And he learned from one to apply it towards the other as we see during his rescue in the factory. He's really good at it and takes pride in living up to it by doing his best, Buck's a natural at firefighting and that's why when he is listening to Eddie and I'm not sure if he hears all of Bobby's talk with Eddie but it is implied that he has spoken with Bobby after they get the fire out and leave their shift for brunch. Because Buck can understand Brian's desire for being a firefighter but he didn't make it though, the tests and training and knowledge that are required to do the job. So what I got out of it was on top of Eddie giving his speech of moving on which you can't tell me Buck didn't get what was underneath, he was also gaining more reassurance of his place on the team after everything that happen recently as Brian did a horrible job and could have hurt people much like Buck for a short time as Buck 1.0 if they needed the truck but he had it or his distraction got someone hurt or delayed a rescue assistance but Buck has grown so much from then and they know and see it even if they don't wanna call him Buck 3.0 they acknowledge that he made progress while also offering he might need more time to process everything in his past.
