Wolp, week 31 came and went. Ep. 8 came out! Work on ep.9 and storyboarding for ep.10 began!
Also, a big change: I've decided to move my production diary posts to be on patreon only. I've decided such behind-the-scenes content is probably better suited there, so we won't really be doing these weekly recaps anymore. Also it was getting annoying to have to crosspost between twitter and patreon everyday for it. Instead I'd rather make separate content relating to IFM to post to the public on here and twitter. Hopefully I'll still be able to do that on a fairly regular basis!
Those of you who enjoyed reading these production diary posts for free, I do apologize for the inconvenience, but consider: the patreon version shows full panels rather than crop-shots, and it's only a $1 a month. <.<
Anyhoo, till next time!
week 29! Day 200 of production on IFM happened! Drew another fetus to celebrate because I'm still weird like that! Linearting of ep.8 happened, and the beginnings of coloring. Been a bit preoccupied with other stuff on the side, but then, when am I not? It's just crazy to think that I've now dedicated the better part of a year to this comic and its rapidly developing story. Things simultaneously feel fast and slow. Makes me wonder where I'll be when I hit the year mark in just another 165 days...
What a thing, for week 28 to come and go, and the release of ep.7 of IFM along with it.
This was actually an episode that I was experimenting with for the creation process, trying out a different means of coloring and skipping putting a color filter over the panels, which is something I was doing previously. My hope is for something simultaneously more vibrant while also still being unified and cohesive in palette. Will probably continue to experiment and fiddle with the way colors are done until I find something satisfying.
Week 27, the week where I suddenly realize I don't have the time to actually keep up with a two-week update schedule, and immediately dial shit back.
Yeah, sad to say, I'm going back to simply working on one chapter at a time and they'll be out when they're out. You see, in order to try and update every two weeks, I needed to be working on two chapters at once. And that was okay, for the most part, even if it was getting increasingly demanding and difficult to keep up with. But this week I would've needed to start working on a third chapter as well as the other two, all at the same time, and that was just too much. Would've completed crashed and burned out, so, I opted to chill and not worry about it. Maybe someday in the future when I have more free time I could consider attempting a schedule like that again. Maybe if I stretch out the length of time I give myself for working on each chapter, thus lowering my daily workload, then it would become viable. But for right now, it's back to just getting one chapter done at a time.
With that said, here's the week's progress from the upcoming ep.7 as well as later planned content, got the inks done and started the coloring process. Also made a bunch of outfit concepts for Noelle. :B

Week 26! A lot happened this week!
Episode 6 went live!
Finished storyboarding ep. 12!
Started a patreon! And started posting full-size panel previews of the in-progress comic for subscribers!
Attempting to commit to a 2-week update schedule has been pretty demanding, but so far it's all good, just haven't hit my stride yet. Luckily I've been able to increase my overall productivity by ironically taking more short breaks during art sessions, who knew?
Oh yeah, week 25 also happened for production on IFM. This week the theme's been storyboarding, storyboarding, and more storyboarding. Just a little smackeral of a rough sketch for ep.7 as well. The reason why I'm doing so much storyboarding is because I want to commit to an update schedule of putting a new chapter every two weeks. And to do that, I need more episodes storyboarded ahead of time. Gotta get ahead of the curve and then stay there, and so far it's basically working out like I hoped. Just gotta keep at it!
Shout out to week 24, as I continued to work on ep.6 and posted ep.5. But, I've decided not to post ep.6 right away when I finish it, instead I'd like to schedule it to post in a couple weeks. I'm thinking a bi-weekly update schedule might work well for me, considering my pace and the length of time episodes take to make. We'll try for it, anyways, and see how it works out.
