Progress Check!

My second DOAI OC animatic is near completion! I just have to add the text now and it will be ready to post! Then, I can get to work making a video where I talk about Davey and break down both of my animatics.

Plus side of posting chapter by chapter is that I can actually still make revisions to chapter 3 TNO.

So the plan, in the end I will slightly rename the chapter and move one third of it to chapter 4 so that I can add some more stuff to chapter 3.

So the length will stay roughly the same but I need to add some more stuff so that future chapters don't feel abrupt :D

For sure chapter 3 please expect more Jiaozi, more Airplane, some family feels, some research and mystery being slightly uncovered, and more and more breadcrumbs. Although some of those are loafs. I won't tell what is true though hehehe

As the heatwave is slowly passing but I'm going on short vacation soon, I think that July might be actually slower in updates from my side QwQ

I've got multiple projects and drafts started or half-done but nothing that is fully ready for final edits.

To those curious, the stuff I'm working on rn:

1. Secret thing one -> estimate length 8-12k x.x

2. Treatise sequel -> estimate length 10-14k x.x

3. FYE ch111 -> drafted one third of it for now, estimate length 4-6k

4. Serendipity, reclaimed ch4 -> drafted 25%, outline is a bit vague x.x

5. Secret thing two -> estimate length 8-12k, drafted 4k for now x.x deadline end of July tho

6. Realignment series oneshot -> drafted 4k, estimated length 7-10k

7. Omegaverse Assassin's Creed oneshot -> drafted 5k, estimated 10-15k

8. TNO ch3 and ch4 -> ch3 to be slightly reworked, length currently 18k, ch4 outline and draft currently 3k estimated 6-12k?

9. Secret thing three -> ch1 drafted 4k, estimate for that 6-8k

I'm tracking the wordcount in trackbear but only for PUBLISHED works and not wgat I actually draft and outline. If I add it all up the wordcount seems insane o.O but June was actually a good month for me, writing-wise.

Last year, I tried (emphasis on "tried") to regularly keep track of my writing progress on here to hold myself accountable and ensure I actually see my WIP plans through, so I'm going to be attempting the same thing this year... except in an entirely new post because those old plans are quite dated. Also any fic mentioned is a hiruhoshi fic unless specified otherwise because my brainrot is still going strong and I doubt it'll cease anytime soon (not that I frankly want it to though).

An update on one of those older plans:

I'll Do The Dishes, We'll Carry The Load (previously titled Healing Hands) is completed and posted! You can read it here if you're interested :)

I've started drafting a second chapter of In Your Skin, which wasn't part of the original plan for that fic, but I really wanted to try my hand at writing body horror (despite not liking horror, let alone body horror, to begin with) and also expand on some things I didn't get to flesh out properly in that first chapter. Will it ever see the light of day? Who knows, but I'm trying it anyway.

Okay now onto the new plans...

The Foundation Of It All

Oooh boy this fic is a doozy. I consider just giving up on it entirely more often than I'd like to admit HOWEVER I'm actually quite proud of what I've already written and I'm also very very stubborn so it's like. I can't not see this through. (And I'm fairly certain my Sachirō brainrot is strong enough to let me finish this... when I say this guy occupies at least 70% of my total brain capacity I'm NOT joking.) I have the pre-timeskip timeline outlined pretty thoroughly, but the post-timeskip timeline is... still a work in progress. I know roughly what I want it to entail (and I have certain scenes outlined and partially drafted), but my vision for it isn't as clear as that of the pre-timeskip timeline, so I'm going to be focusing on the latter until I feel confident enough to continue the post-timeskip timeline.

Dog Days Are Over

Deadline: First draft completed by the end of March, but no set posting date (maybe I'll post this for Kōrai's birthday???)

And the saga of "Aisha isn't used to writing fluff and it's painfully obvious" continues! Which might not make sense given the title but I promise it makes sense with the direction I'm taking the fic in (of course, the title is subject to change, but still). I might actually get the first draft done sooner than expected, since I've been making some good progress with it over the last few days, but only time will tell.

Now this is the plan I'm (hopefully) most likely to see through because I'm actually almost done with the first draft! I'd gotten the idea for this while writing IDTDWCTL (as well as from my own personal headcanons), so I'd had most of the events of this one conceptualised by the time I started writing it and I've stuck pretty closely to my initial vision for it. Is it good? Depends on who you ask, but oh well.

Some other WIPs/ideas:

Hiruhoshi sickfic -> conceptualising, not yet started

Hoshihina relationship study -> started drafting but lost motivation less than 300 words in, so I've taken a step back from it until inspiration strikes again

Hikaru (hikanatsu) character study -> started drafting (I posted an excerpt of it here if you're interested), but I tend to get really intimidated when writing for more popular characters/pairings (or characters/pairings that are more central to the narrative), so who knows if/when I'll finish this :')
