Posting for that sweet sweet "finish this damn project" energy!
I am making this for a new niece due in a few weeks. I have not enjoyed knitting it at all (no hate to the designer; I've just learned that this kind of pattern requires more attention and counting than I like). I decided late to add one more repeat and it hurt my soul.
Thankfully, I really do like it when I lay it out. And I am fewer than 40 rows from done and my needles can already taste their freedom.
🪄✨
The year is 2014. I am over 230 pounds. I am in a terrible, traumatic relationship. I am working 5 jobs, and still struggling paycheck to paycheck. I’ve always had a hard time with my weight, but it seems the only solace I have these days is in food.
It’s strange to look back on pictures sometimes. I still feel so much like this girl, but I know she and I are so different. I wish I could go back and hug her. Tell her it’s all going to be okay in the end.
Today, you can just see the life in my face more. I’m not at my lowest ever weight, but the balance of finding joy off a plate of food is so much easier now. I am surrounded by so much love and support, and I feel so lucky to have been able to discover this version of myself.
To anyone who is struggling, all I can tell you is: you deserve it. You deserve life. You deserve happiness. Don’t ever sell yourself short. You are worth it.
Been a little bit... I’ve actually been going way easier on myself recently. And for once I’m almost happy with what I see in terms of definition.
Taken roughly three years apart. It was a struggle to fasten the one button that would do up, let me tell you that!
Apologies for the roughness of the second photograph; the jacket was pinching my arms so tightly I couldn't bend my arm far away enough to get a decent picture.
It’s been a while since I posted a progress picture! My biceps are starting to pop a bit more, my back is definitely getting stronger, and I think my shoulders are finally starting to even out.
I decided to run to they gym today because it was cloudy, breezy, and only 106 out and wow was that a mistake! I cut my lift short and took leg day pretty easy because I was started to feel a bit lightheaded and nauseous.
Still, it had been a while since my last workout (Thursday) so I’m glad I went!
