Since I can't find anywhere else to tell FOX about Brooklyn Nine Nine I'll just do it here. The show is pretty good as it is, PLEASE DON'T MEDDLE and try to make it "better."
When networks get involved, trying to make shows 'more appealing' to a 'wider range of people' what you end up with is a lot of frustrated fans because the show has become watered down garbage. Just ask NBC and ALL of their comedies which all suck now because the heads of networks give their old white guy input and ruin everything.
And specifically for season 2 of this show, are the characters hitchcock and scully, which I'm sure are there/named that way having something to do with producer norm hiscock, but anyway. These are two fat incompetent white men who are THE LEAST FUNNY PEOPLE ON THE SHOW, and yet, they've been bumped to "regulars."
I'm just praying FOX doesn't get involved in script writing or political crap and change the show because it's one of the few shows they have (Mindy Project and Bob's Burgers being the other two) that are not made for the simpletons that make up the generic population of the United States. Smart people have money, too. These shows broadcast in other countries, the network can make money there. Obviously that's all the networks care about in the end, but to make money, you have to make content that is liked.
Just for the love of god don't dumb down this show, or try to make it "funnier," or give us any more old white guys trying to be funny. A huge reason why the show is so popular is because THERE ARE WOMEN AND POC. THE LACK OF WHITE MEN IS APPEALING. DON'T GO ADDING MORE.
THE DEMOGRAPHIC OF THIS SHOW IS NOT OLD WHITE MEN. WE DEAL WITH INCOMPETENT OLD MEN EVERY DAY WE DON'T WANT TO SEE IT FORCE-FED THROUGH DILUTED FOX GARBAGE.
I went on a rant to over at ProjectFOX about them getting their grimey old white man paws on the second season of Brooklyn Nine Nine. I suggest you all do the same.
As you can see, I hate Hitchcock and Scully with a passion and the fact that they're now "regulars" makes me want to slap those right-wing assholes in the face with The Story of Community on NBC and how JUST when the network started adjusting the stories/characters, the fans of the show literally exploded.
FOX, just keep on making hilarious "news" and leave your comedies to comedians okay? Okay.
