so i’ve been combing through more of the datamined content for trials & one of the brainwashing videos contains gooseberry backstory.

So I reposted something before this is I wanna bring up a theory. Coyle absolutely has brain damage from the baton but also him being drugged up yet still coherent is quite.... alarming. But not necessarily to us, but to Easterman. Someone in the repost hashtags mentioned that EVERYONE was drugged up in Sinyala. The scientists, the primes, expops, reagents, guards, hell Easterman himself, you name it. That makes me wonder. I understand from a Experimental POV why Easterman would want to put everyone on drugs to keep them calm and stable yet weak enough to not fully fight back with all of their strength. Basically giving everyone a window for them to sedate anyone and everyone.

But do you think that Easterman is letting coyle use short hand on his notes to see if the drugs are working hard enough? What I mean by that is, maybe the inability to defend themselves isn't the only reason for drugging everyone. Maybe it's also for the inability to tell the truth or describe an environment reliability where it could be traced to Sinyala. If anyone were to rat Sinyala out, Easterman, Lawler and avellanos had a way out or an excuse saying either they were mental patients from mount massive, saying they were rejects of society so they aren't reliable sources or simply stating that they were ALL drug addicts who say will say anything to get their next fix or get out of the hands of 'rehabilitation'.

Maybe everyone isn't drugged so they can't fight back, maybe everyone is drugged because they know lathe is one step away from the shitter and if anything happens that is drastic enough to stop the project indefinitely, they have a 'legal' excuse to get out of it.

Now to bring this back to coyle, coyle is an 'experimental' test subject. How much of whatever drug is too little or too much. How much is enough to keep them quiet and cooperative whilst still being coherent and capable of keeping their mouth shut about anything and everything that happens in Sinyala. Easterman is testing the waters on Coyles loyalty as well as Monitoring all of the physical and verbal evidence that coyle can come up with and use against Sinyala as a gauge for how much they should truly drug everyone.

I feel like, if you know you know for this post, but-

I feel like a young Dr. Easterman would be very, Victor Frankenstein-esk, in how he went about things.

And how he looked.

The parallels between they are so similar, from the book's version of Victor at least. I can't help but feel like they'd look similar with the mad scientist aspect especially.

That's how I imagine young Easterman to look. Rugged. Messy hair. Blood on his gloves at random. Eye bags the size of a duffle bag. Glasses before he corrected his vision somehow.

Does anyone get what I mean?
