Project Introduction

Hello! A friend and I have been creating a Call of Cthulhu campaign since the end of January, and have decided to turn it into writing that we'd like to share.

I'm The Scribe, and in about a month's time, I'd like to open up a discord server to promote the project. This isn't meant to gain any funding, all we want to do is share the world that we're both quite proud of.

I'll be posting updates on this account both for before and when the discord is active, and I'll be releasing chapters monthly for people to read if interested.

The plot is as follows: Samson Conrad, a 19 year old student from Seattle is invited to work at The Nocturne Institute, a government research facility in the cascade mountains. As a junior researcher, he needs to answer to 8 senior researchers' wants and needs, navigate the secrets of the institute, and make sure he can survive long enough to help the institute's cause (whatever it might be).

This is going to be in the genre of supernatural horror, and as the discord gets closer to opening up, I'll post some content warnings. The Loremaster and I are going to be running the server, but she'll largely be in the background making sure what I transcribe fits with what has been made so far.

At some points on this blog I may post as Samson, because I feel like that could be a lot of fun for when the story gets farther in production.

On 7/24/2020, I was finally reading "Making Comics" by Scott McCloud, and I suddenly remembered that my sister had always wanted to collaborate with me on a fairytale.  So I lethargically messaged her in the middle of the night about sending each other alternating bits of story/drawing or prompts.  She was enthusiastic about the project idea.  We'll see where it goes from here.  ^_^

What are you doing?: Wanting my baby stream on twitch (www.twitch.tv/gigashiro // but don't tell him about this blog it's a surprise )

Purpose: I am starting this blog to document my reltionship as a surprise for my boyfriend for when we meet in person. I am currently opening up a kickstarter and using my patreon and maybe others to try and earn money in order to see him on my own. (btw I'm 20 currently and both of us and many agree that it's bullshit that we can't or haven't seen each other in all the time we've been dating)

ANNOUNCING: PROJECT HEALERGEAR

Goal: To provide healers of all races and both sexes with complete glamour previews for non-craftable healer gear in both complete sets and individual items.

Scope: Project Healergear will provide images of all non-craftable head, body, hands, legs, and feet items equipable by all healer classes.  Images of both full sets and individual items of the above listed types for all races and both sexes will be made available for public viewing.  Accessories dropped by instances are not intended to be included, but if images of them are submitted, they will be.

PROJECT HEALERGEAR NEEDS YOUR HELP!

This is going to be a huge undertaking, yes, and it’s probably going to take quite a while to reach full completion, especially since a lot of folks probably didn’t hang on to their Divine Harvest or Darklight sets.  Not that I blame you, I mean really, GC seals, yo.

This project isn’t limited to servers, so ANYONE can participate!  And it doesn’t matter how much or how little you can contribute, your help is going to make this a real success.

How is this going to work?

A master post is going to be made, so it can be spread throughout Tumblr.  It’s going to look just like the original master post for #healergear, but instead of links going to a screenie of me in that set, it’s going to lead to a webpage (probably wix unless someone has a better free option!), where an extensive list of images for that set will be hosted.  The images themselves will be hosted on imgur (for simplicity’s sake, also to keep this resource free), and will not be embedded into the list page, so as to keep loading fast for mobile users who just wanna see what the Scylla set looks like real quick, etc.

What are you shooting for?

The idea is that while sure, you can go to the market board and preview some stuff, there are items that you can’t put there that make GREAT glamours!  And this project intends to help healers by giving a central, consolidated location to find them all.

What are the submission guidelines?

Simple!

Front and back screenshots of the item, not in the preview window.  Feel free to include side or extra views if you think they include relevant or otherwise not visible details, but front and back at a minimum.

ALL EMAILS WILL BE DELETED AFTER IMAGES ARE UPLOADED AND CREDIT TO THE SUBMITTER IS ATTACHED TO THEM

I’ve got exactly zero interest in hanging on to your email address, and since you’re kind enough to help with this project and I respect your privacy, I’m going to delete the email with your submission as soon as the images are uploaded and you get credit for your help!

If you need an alternative method to submit, please send me either an ask or message here on Tumblr, and I’ll do whatever I can to be flexible with you.

You said something about prizes earlier?

I did!

For the person submitting the most items for their race and sex, I’m going to be giving any Mogstation item up to $5 USD.

For the third and second place submitters overall, I’m going to be giving one of the magitek mounts - White Devil/Red Baron (or up to $12 USD on the Mogstation if you already have or don’t want).

For the top submitter overall, I’m going to be giving your choice of Slepnir or Bennu, the big mounts!  (Or up to $24 USD on Mogstation if you don’t want or already have.)

These are going to be given out when the project hits over 90% completion.  I’ll be keeping everyone updated by reblogging the master post here on tumblr, of course.  Now, extra items like earrings and stuff from Coil or whatever aren’t going to count towards completion, so while they’re welcome, certainly, they’re not going to push the project along.

Hmm. I’ve discovered a big deficiency in Chrys’s FF8 section. For shame really, what was I thinking leaving it like that for years. Looks like I’m now on the hunt for the game’s script (as complete as possible, preferably English or Japanese) so I can confirm all the little details I need to confirm.

I love doing this research thing maybe. I feel all energized just thinking about this. :P

Been on break from all (or at least most) FF-related stuffs for a couple days, hence the lack of posts. Needed it after finishing my last big project, that was mostly just data entry. I’m not quite as keen on data entry as I am on lore research and processing....
