Zenyatta all but breathes, his day all at once brightened when a pair of thin but immeasurably kind lips presses onto the back of his neck, a little to the right of his spine. He resists the urge to unfold and is unable to unbend, stuck in his lazily postured lotus. He does tilt his head a little to the left, his version of a smile, and feels his gaze close from the ground it was glued to, content as a warm snake.

“It is wonderful of you to stop in, my student! How have you been?”

1) Reaper and Zenyattas relationship is a heck of a lot more closed than other relationships Zen has been in. Reaper is a bit possessive and honestly requires a surprising lot of attention from Zenyattas part but he doesn’t mind it at all! They aren’t public with titles, though the pet names they use are /so sweet/. Reaper and Zenyattas relationship also took a l o n g time,,, like, almost an entire year of constant doubt and guessing and stumbling around eachother. Reaper made the first move, he had to. Zenyatta would never breach his space like that but they both wanted it, needed it too. This doesn’t mean that Zenyatta isn’t assertive, though. He is quick to learn Reapers boundaries and absolutely frolics within them.

2) This lasts so long, man. So long. Years go by and these two learn to read eachother so well, Zenyatta knows Gabriel doesnt usually eat food-food but makes him his preferred coffee every time he visits the base. (He always drinks that) Gabriel has provided him with a few of his oldest and most loved hoodies and sweatpants, as Gabriel could make his own clothing now from the smoke, his skin is much too sensitive for tangible clothing at this point. He always wears them when he feels Gabriel is going to visit that day. Soldier recognizes the clothing but deflects questions from other members, simply claiming them as a gift from him to Zenyatta. Side note, both Zenyatta and Genji have a clothes obsession, though Zenyatta doesn’t steal peeps clothing, they often give him hand me downs or buy him new things.

3) There are regularly scheduled Harmony sessions at this point, it’s mutually beneficial for both of them. They’d lay with each other and Zenyatta would attatch harmony to the places Gabriel would hurt the most that day, rub the less sensitive bits of his skin until he’s melted and near tears and honest to god s l e e p for once. Zenyatta would guide him to sleep, knows he needs it, and he trusts no one else to sleep around. (He always wakes in Zenyattas arms, absolutely always.) It’s the best sight in the entire world to Zenyatta, who’d keep watch of the door while Gabriel slept, would trace the details of his face and pet away the creases and worry lines and worship the scars and flaws with his fingertips.

Bonus: Zenyatta still has no affiliation, he came to Overwatch to help empathize with a wider group of people and with how this group travels it fits well. If he and Gabriel were to be found out, the team would admittedly be upset, but they wouldn’t take it as treason. They’d probably believe any detail Zenyatta gave them, and he would probably be cut out of the team peacefully.

I’m gonna use @embrace-tranquility ((they’re friggn great and u should follow)) as a lot of the muse for this. They’ve got quality reapyattas, and while these hcs aren’t from any specific threads they’ve done (these are straight from me personally) it’s still worth giving them a read!

“I... Uhh...” is his intelligent reply, as he’s genuinely caught off guard by her question. Before he can’t attempt to say anything actually comprehensible, she guides his hand over so it rest atop her stomach. It’s a rather odd connection, his scarred, calloused hand resting, feather light, right over where the baby is. Now is one of the few moments that he is and has been observed to be speechless. There’s a lapse of silence as he lets his hand linger and as his brain struggles to catch up with what he’s feeling, both literally and emotionally. “She’s gonna be a feisty one, isn’t she?” he laughs, flashing her a genuine smile. “I supposed it’s to be expected. An acrobat father and a princess for a mother... She’s going to be feisty and fly, isn’t she?” Lighthearted comments made, he makes one last comment - his mandatory moment of seriousness. “How did the last doctor’s appointment go? Are you both healthy?”
