It can and likely will be used to censor anything they disagree with politically. If you live in the US and have ever claimed to care about free speech or censorship, then it’s time to stand up. Call your elected officials, spread the word, and push back.
Think about the media you like. Books, comics, YouTube, fanfic, whatever - do you want to have to report your demographics to the government every time you access it? Do you want it to face removal or for creators to be criminalized? Many different things will be at risk. We have to push against this law and every law like it that they try to pass.
So I know artists have things like glaze to help protect their stuff from AI
But do writers have anything we can do, aside from, you know, not posting anything? I have my AO3 locked down to just registered users but is that really all writers can do?

I know I have been inactive for a while but I'm coming here to say, if you accuse writers who put in so much effort in their work of using Ai with no proof other than it "looks" Ai, go fuck yourself.
If you have this mindset to constantly accuse every writer, especially beginner writers, using Ai in their works, I think you're a piece of shit human being and you have no one else to blame but yourself if these writers stop uploading.
