Miraculous Musing: I wonder if there will ever be a possible future episode of Miraculous where fans get to glimpse our heroic duo as grown up adults or at least older than they are currently in the series.
Right now it has been hinted by Thomas that our heroes stand between the 14-15 age brackets. So as a miraculer, I'm curious what our heroes would look like it they were adults. Not exactly in their late 30s or 40s but more like let's say ages 17-19. This thought came to me while once again rewatching the ‘Jackady’ episode (for the umpteenth time) around the last scene where Adrien is up in his room with Plagg, sifting through some old photos of him and his mother together just before Papa Papillion—Gabriel; sort of barges in.
The interesting thing about Adrien to me is that sometimes when I look at him, I can very realistically see parts of him that remind me of both his parents. Like now, I can tell that Adrien more resembles his mother because not only does he share similarities with her in terms of eye colour and the same shade of golden blonde hair but he also has her warm and friendly smile (as indicated in the infamous cute Ladrien moment from the episode). Not to mention that the shape and genuine softness of his facial features remind me, as the viewer looking in, of his mother---Mama Agreste.
Then there are those key moments where I can look at Adrien and see bits of his father in him as well; both physically and expressively. For example, Adrien may possess his mother’s smile however whenever he frowns or sulks or makes a sad face; to me he looks a lot like Gabriel when he does that. That’s what I observed after watching this episode.
Adding to that, Adrien’s overall body type and build coupled together with the highness of his waist and buttocks are very similar to Gabriel Agreste’s. If you look at Adrien from behind and then Gabriel from the same angle, there is a similarity. So in a nutshell, what I’m trying to say is that Adrien has his dad's butt.
His got his momma's face but his daddy’s everything else; if you know what I mean.
So ladies, the next time you're shamelessly ogling the Chat booty, you all know who to thank.
He got it from his daddy!
Above all, what I'm mainly curious about is who Adrien will look like the most when he gets older. His mother or his father?
I have a little headcanon where now as a teenager Adrien more resembles Mama Agreste however as he gets older and continues to mature more physically, that’s when puberty and genetics are just gonna double team and karate chop all that cutesy cinnamon roll tenderness right out of him. His features will then begin to sharpen and gain more definition until ultimately, Adrien might grow to become the spitting image of his dad.
I wanna know if Adrien will ever inherit his dad's high cheekbones. I have an unashamed fascination with Gabriel Agreste’s cheekbones. They are strangely mesmerizing (Don’t Judge me) and I’m very, very curious about whether or not Adrien will someday get them too. Like picture an older Adrien: Probably around age 18 to his early twenties---Tall, hair still as golden as the sun, eyes greener than a four leaf clover; ridiculously more handsome than he was when he was a young teen but now with high cheekbones; looking almost like a clone of his papa but still maintaining his kind-hearted and sincere persona that we all know and love him for.
Picture it.
Most miraculers interpret older Adrien still pretty much looking like his 15-year old self but just take a moment and imagine older Adrien a lot less baby-faced and more sharper; not neglecting the cheekbones. Imagine it and now wipe your mouths because I know you’re probably drooling over how handsome the cinnamon/sinnamon roll looks even with high godly high cheekbones.
That being said; if Adrien grows up to look more like his dad when he’s an adult; I’m very curious to know if possibly Gabriel looked like Adrien when he was younger too. Imagine a potential episode of Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir where an Akuma with aging abilities transforms all the adults in Paris into babies or younger versions of themselves.
Imagine Gabriel Agreste somehow getting zapped by this same akumatized villain. Let’s say it’s another Jackady-type episode focused around Adrien and his relationship with his father and while attempting to shield his son from an ongoing attack by said Akuma, Gabriel gets zapped by the villain and ends up reverting back to a younger version of himself.
Imagine an episode where Adrien comes face to face with a 14 year old version of his dad: Gabriel Agreste who ironically looks a lot like his son.
Imagine if Teen Gabriel’s character design looked like Felix. Sometimes I’d like to think that Felix was somewhat reborn as Gabriel Agreste. Like the character designers and concept art team for the series took design attributes from Felix from the original 2D PV and added it to Gabriel in a way.
Because honestly, when I look at Gabriel at times, his whole abrasive, strict, intimidating and somewhat cold persona reminds me of how Felix used to act around Bridgette (2D Marinette) before.
The similarities in personality are so close that I wouldn’t be surprised if young Gabriel would look like Felix if the series explored an episode featuring a younger Papa Agreste.
Personally, I'm not really much of a Felix fan but I do enjoy coming up with different ways the 3D series can bring him back or pay homage to him in some way or form.
While I know of Hawkdaddy’s exasperated sentiments towards the old character concept (due to the constant questioning by the incessant Felix fans), I’m still clinging to the prospect of him making a return in the series in some way because of an old tweet made by either WinnyGZ or Hawkdaddy himself (can’t remember who said it) that there is a chance that Felix might show up in the 3D series. Even if Felix isn’t remade entirely as a full-fledged canon character in the series, I still love the idea of the series finding clever, subtle yet creative ways to pay tribute to previous concepts cherished by the fandom (such as Marinette rocking attire reminiscent of her former 2D self in the 3D universe or Felix returning as an alternative design for a canon character already in the series...for instance, teenaged or younger Gabriel Agreste sharing design attributes once created for the character of Felix).
Imagine Teenage Gabriel Agreste still trying to parent his son despite them physically being the same age. Imagine a touching moment where Adrien gets to bond with his father while he’s a teenager and in turn, learns that he and his father aren’t all that different and actually share a lot in common---a trait that once worried Adrien (since he didn’t want to grow up to be like his father) but since he was able to spend time with his father from the whole De-Aging experience, he was able to understand why his dad is the way that he is (even if it does try him catty at times).
Imagine Adrien having to protect his father as Chat Noir and imagine an ending parallel scene to the Jackady episode where Adrien walks into his dad’s study and they share another tender father-son moment (probably with tears and an emotional breakdown this time to really sell it) where Adrien confesses to Gabriel how much he truly missed the way things used to be when his mother was still around and above all; how much he missed the way things were when he and his dad were actually close and spent time together.
And Gabriel in turn, can respond in that moment that he too missed the same thing---the love and valued company of his beloved wife and the strong bond he once shared with his son.
Imagine it cause it would truly make an AMAZING potential episode of Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir. I’m not a writer for the series but it’s definitely something I, as a fan, would like to see more of in the show. I really enjoyed the Jackady episode. It’s one of my favourite episodes of the series. Adrien/Chat Noir is my favourite character of the series. I mean don’t get me wrong, Marinette/Ladybug is an awesome female lead character plus the series has a lot of other terrific and memorable characters than fans of the show can appreciate. But for me, Adrien Agreste/Chat Noir is my absolute favourite (as far as human characters go. Y’know I share love for the cutie kwamis too) and any episode focused around him, his development and general relationship with other characters are a must see for me. And what I hope for future episodes in the series is for more father-son moments with Adrien and Gabriel Agreste. Jackady was an amazing personal favourite episode for me and I hope to see more episodes much like it---it is expected actually since a lot of the mystery of the series seems to fall with the Agreste household so I’m super psyched to watching on and seeing how that goes.
Whether or not I’ll ever get to see an episode with Teen Papa Agreste or Adult Ladybug and Chat Noir---I’m not too sure if we’ll ever see something like exist in the series. Regardless it’s nice food for thought and as always, a miraculer can dream about the possibility of grown up Adrien or Teen Papa Agreste and more opportunities to shed light on their strained yet touchingly beautiful relationship.
