Why Choose Pumpkin Protein Bread?
Pumpkin is a superstar ingredient in the world of healthy baking. Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, it adds moisture and flavor while being low in calories. Our pumpkin bread is packed with protein, making it a great option for those looking to incorporate more nourishing foods into their diets. It’s ideal for breakfast, a midday snack, or even as a healthy dessert. Plus, it's gluten-free and vegan, so everyone can enjoy it!
Ingredients You'll Need
To whip up this delicious spiced bread, gather the following ingredients:
1 cup pure pumpkin puree (canned or homemade)
1 cup almond flour (or your favorite gluten-free flour)
1/2 cup protein powder (plant-based for vegan options)
1/4 cup maple syrup or agave nectar
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp salt
Optional: nuts or chocolate chips for added texture
Step-by-Step Instructions
Preheat Your Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the almond flour, protein powder, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt. Stir well to ensure the dry ingredients are evenly mixed.
Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, maple syrup, and applesauce until smooth.
Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are perfectly fine!
Add Extras: If you’re using nuts or chocolate chips, fold them into the batter at this stage.
Bake: Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool and Enjoy: Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Once cooled, slice and enjoy!
