What Inuit Eat to Stay Alive in −80°F Arctic Winters
Keto and Minimalism
After a few years of “ketokiana” I’ve changed my name to “highfatminimalist”
My diet and my lifestyle have kinda merged into one thing... Having less, spending less, eating less... it really fits.
I’ve been dabbling in the minimalist lifestyle since I started traveling for work a few years ago (around the same time I found keto but I never associated them). I watched that doc “The Minimalists” and have gradually become more frugal and simple over the years. I recommitted myself to the lifestyle around the time that I got back into keto 6 weeks ago and it was perfect timing! Since merging the two ideologies, it’s been easier to avoid going overboard on the keto diet, especially when it comes to eating unnecessary carb replacements and snacking for the sake of snacking.
I’ve been keeping it super simple with meat, eggs, veggies, and the occasional fancy dish every couple weeks and it’s been so much easier to keep my consumption in check!
As far as minimalism goes, I’ve never really thought to blog about that part of my life, but I might start!
A diet high in fructose and/or fat alone damages liver mitochondria, which increases the risk of fatty liver disease and metabolic syndrome.

Healthy foods to eat!
I’m not a strict eater nor do I meal plan. If I want a yummy snack or junk meal I’ll go for it but make sure I do not overeat. Again the best form of eating is a balanced approach. For a healthy lifestyle, balanced eating should be combined with a solid exercise routine (which I am in the process of establishing). With that being said I still want to eat mostly healthy. My definition of healthy eating is eating high amounts of protein, healthy fats, fiber and veggies. Here are some examples of each:
PROTEIN 🍖:
Chicken
Turkey
Fish (ie salmon)
Eggs
Cheese (mozzarella, cottage and parmesan)
Greek yogurt
Ezekiel bread
Hemp seeds
Quinoa
Lentils
Almonds
Peanut butter
Protein bars/powder
HEALTHY FATS 🥑:
Avocados
Chia seeds
Olive oil
Coconut oil
Almonds
Peanut butter
Walnuts
Eggs
Fish
Cheeses
Chocolate
Butter
Flaxseed
FIBER 🍿:
Ezekiel bread
Popcorn
Chia seeds
Avocados
Bananas
Sweet potatoes
Strawberries
Blueberries
VEGGIES 🥦:
Lettuce
Tomatoes
Cucumbers
Sweet peppers
Carrots
Mushrooms
Sweet potatoes
