Bratzillaz Prototypes!

So, I know some people here bought some of these dolls from AliExpress when they were available. Unfortunately I missed them but I’d really like one. If someone would be willing to sell me one that would be amazingly rad.
A video game memorabilia collector was able to snag a few photos of a prototype Sonic Movie doll. It’s a prototype, not many of these are around. The doll’s owner says that they kept it at the toy factory that it was manufactured at.
Pretty cute, huh?

Alright so I restyled the Moxie Girlz Avery prototype! I know it’s a little fucked up considering that she was hand-styled by MGA’s doll hair designer and used for photoshoots, commercials, likely even retailer showings, but it was SO damaged IRL and if I left it styled, more of her hair would suffer breakage from those knots and that would have stressed me out more than her current damage. But I did make sure to document her original style with a shit ton of closeups and detail shots so that even with her hair completely restyled, there is documentation of how much work went into her look, both for fans too see and as a sign of respect to the Hair Designer that spent so much time styling this girl and countless other Moxie Girlz prototypes with this type of style. That might not be sufficient for some people, I’m sure she would have been better off with a collector that would put her in a glass case and never touch her but frankly, I wanted her to have pretty, undamaged, organized hair that will stay perfect forever and be able to dress and display her as a beautiful doll and not as a damaged shadow of what she once was in the name of preservation. I also took photos WHILE I was taking her style apart, specifically I separated the individual sections and photographed them so that I know the exact placement of each knot, where the sections came from, etc, so that I can either replicate the style on her some day or on another doll with ‘virgin’ saran hair. She does look a little generic in comparison with her hair straightened out but she still has her beautiful hand-painted face and she can be gently styled and dressed without risking further breakage now.
Prototype Avery documentation: Hair style Alright so I decided to take a bunch of pictures to document the hair style on my Fall 2009 Moxie Girlz Avery prototype. I SHOULD have done this years ago, before I washed her curls but the intricate, knotted style is the biggest part so I figured I’d do that now. The frontal parting is separated into several different sections, with each of them twisted and tied into tiny little knots and then elaborately (and seemingly randomly) woven into two larger sections and tied in the back (rubber band has been replaced) Also on the right side, there’s a tiny metal pin stuck into her scalp right after her hairline- presumably this was to hold that section down (it’s a little flatter in the stock photos) but it won’t stay put now, likely because the knots have loosened or the pin was pushed too far down to hold anything. Also visible are the shit ton of broken, snapped hairs sticking out of the knots and frontal hairline, either because of whatever styling product they used or because the knots have been there for a decade and have likely been, repeatedly, undone, combed and handled while she was being used for photographs, commercials and retailer showings. The focus is her hair style but there’s a new view of her hand-painted face here! She looks more ‘soft’ than the production dolls, her faces always looks filtered because of that. it’s beautiful. I’ll take some better photos of her face eventually, without the glare.
