ideally,  he  could've  made  tanner  go  and  pick  this  up  himself,  because  of  course  the  kid  lost  his  wallet  somewhere  and  needed  help  finding  it.  usually,  he'd  tell  the  kid  tough  shit  —  but  there's  still  that  nagging  feeling  about  making  up  for  everything  that's  happened  since  last  june,  and  rory  is  right  back  where  he  started.  surely  she  won't  be  there  at  this  exact  moment.  if  he's  not  the  universes  little  fucked  up  ken  doll,  she  won't  be.  cue,  enter:  lex  at  the  store.  he's  mentally  cursing  himself  for  agreeing  to  do  this  for  his  baby  brother.  approaches  the  desk  with  much  apprehension.  “lex.”

it  was  difficult  avoiding  lex,  especially  with  how  often  they  spend  time  with  honey.  outside  of  that  though,  she  not  to  cross  her  path.  there  wasn't  anything  awful  about  her,  but  jackie  made  bad  choices  in  the  past  and  wanted  to  avoid  history  repeating  itself.  she  wanted  healthier  relationships  and  not  something  that  was  constantly  up  and  down.  “oh,  hey,”  she  spoke  casually  but  made  sure  to  keep  a  distance  between  them.  “i  didn't  expect  to  run  into  you.”  she  figured  the  galleria  mall  was  large  enough  there  would  be  a  very  small  chance  they'd  run  into  each  other,  yet  here  they  are.  “i  hope  you're  having  a  good  day though.”  at  least  with  honey,  they  could  have  someone  else  to  talk  to,  but  when  it  was  just  them,  it  felt  slightly  awkward  for  jackie.

“SUCH  A  GORGEOUS  DAY,”  honey  muses,  arm  linked  with  alexandra's.  “i  wish  we  knew  somebody  with  a  boat.”  a  pause.  “do  you  know  somebody  with  a  boat  ?!  that  would  just  make  the  perfect  summer  insta  dump.”

" so, you grew up around horses, then ? " lilah questions, carefully easing a knot from the mane of the sanctuary's latest rescue. the horse gives a soft snort, and her smile brightens instantly. " this is willow. " she glances over her shoulder towards lex. " she only got here a few weeks ago, but she's settling in nicely. "

after  breaking  up  with  her  then  -  boyfriend,  it  would  be  easy  to  assume  she’d  get  over  it.  after  all,  her  obsession  with  lex  stems  from  her  past  relationship  with  him,  but  the  moment  she  finds  out  the  blonde  is  living  in  town,  she  can’t  help  but  start  following  her  again.  there’s  a  genuine  surprise  on  her  face  when  she  finally  runs  into  lex.  "  hey,  alexandra,  right?  remember  me?  "  she  asks,  a  poor  attempt  at  sounding  casual.  they  aren’t  friends  per  se,  but  it  does  feel  like  she’s  known  lex  forever  from  how  often  she’s  kept  up  with  her  online.  not  that  she'd  ever  admit  it  out  loud.

she's  trying  her  best  to  navigate  a  party  this  big,  and  she  finds  comfort  in  having  lex  by  her  side  for  the  time  being.  she  doesn't  have  to  fake  or  force  conversation,  but  let  it  come  and  go  as  naturally  as  it  could.  “so  …  have  you  played  any  games  yet  ?”

“there  are  just  so  many  choices  …  i  mean,  WHAT'S  A  MAN  TO  DO  ?”  eyes  bounce  around  the  stalls.  “i  mean,  there's  funnel  cakes,  anything  you  could  imagine  deep  fried,  and  pizza,  which  you  just  can't  get  anywhere  else  …”  he  jokes.  “A  TOUGH  CHOICE,  for  sure.”
