"Eh. Not the worst I've been called. I'm the youngest of two other siblings." He grinned as he texted her so she had his number before slipping it back into his pocket. "Where were you headed before we ran into each other?"

“do  you  get  along  with  them?”  she  asked  curiously.  being  an  only  child  most  of  her  life,  she  always  wondered  what  it  was  like  to  have  siblings,  and  usually  pictured  them  being  there  for  one  another.  “the  library.  i  wanted  to  see  if  they  had  any  new  books.  along  with  a  few  i  have  on  my  list.”  her  head  gestured  toward  a  direction  before  looking  back  at  him.  “what  about  you?”

"I don't, but a new look could definitely make heads turn. Besides, who doesn't love getting a whole new wardrobe, maybe doing something new with their hair, or changing how they do their makeup?" She'd always loved that sort of thing. There were so many fond memories of playing dressup with her mother's things. The woman had the patience of a saint, never bothered when María would accidentally ruin some of her makeup while playing with it. "It really depends..." A soft sigh left her lips. Her standards were admittedly high and even as someone who stayed up to date with the town's latest gossip, it was hard to know exactly who was loosely tangled up with someone else. It was like people forgot how to define a relationship. Not that she could really judge given the state of her own 'love" life. "First of all, is the aim to make this person jealous or are you looking for something real? Secondly, what's your type?"

“okay,  good.”  because  she  didn't  think  she  needed  one  and  frankly,  she  thought  about  going  back  to  her  usual  style  if  a  makeover  was  needed.  the  sound  of  buying  new  clothes  caught  her  attention  though.  having  a  love  for  shopping,  she  wasn't  going  to  turn  that  down.  “i  guess  it  wouldn't  hurt  to  see  what's  in  stores  now.  do  you  prefer  shopping  in  person  or  online?”  being  busy  with  her  channel,  she  mostly  bought  her  clothes  online  but  going  out  for  once  seemed  like  a  good  idea.  well,  jackie  didn't  think  about  things  that  way.  giving  it  more  thought,  she  didn't  see  any  harm  in  making  someone  a  little  jealous  but  wanted  something  real  too.  “do  you  think  we  can  do  a  mix  of  both?  as  for  my  type…  someone  kind,  smart,  and  funny.  it  wouldn't  hurt  if  they  were  good-looking  too.”

he  considered  buying  their  tickets  and  surprising  her  with  them,  but  he  figured  it  needed  to  align  with  both  of  their  schedules.  he  wanted  to  make  sure  she  was  available  during  whatever  day  was  decided  on.  “when  do  you  think  we  should  go  out  of  town  to  watch  a  boston  red  sox  game?”  he  pulled  out  his  phone  before  googling  the  team's  schedule  and  showing  it  to  her.  “hopefully  tickets  won't  be  that  expensive.”

in  the  back  of  his  mind,  sometimes  he  wondered  what  happened  between  them.  he  understood  friends  grew  up,  but  with  her  back  in  town,  it  felt  like  they  barely  talked  to  one  another  outside  of  work.  even  while  at  work,  they  didn't  see  each  other  that  much.  nonetheless,  enzo  did  miss  their  friendship  and  hoped  deep  down  they  could  be  close  again.  “hey,”  he  spoke  softly  after  reaching  her  table  at  the  teachers'  lounge.  “is  this  spot  taken?”  a  finger  pointed  at  the  chair  beside  her's.

unfortunately,  after  dropping  an  airpod,  she  wasn't  able  to  catch  it  in  time  and  watched  as  someone  accidentally  stepped  on  it.  with  only  one  airpod,  she  gave  a  sigh  before  showing  a  small  pout.  “what  am  i  supposed  to  do  now?  it's  not  like  i  can  fix  it.  or  sell  the  other,”  she  muttered  to  herself.

after  the  kitchen  has  been  cleaned  up  and  reorganized,  layla  hopped  onto  the  counter  before  turning  to  tabby.  wanting  to  experiment  making  chocolate,  she  contacted  the  woman  right  away  before  making  preparations.  as  a  final  result,  she  had  several  milk  chocolate  variations.  one  being  spicy  with  a  caramel  filling,  the  second  containing  pretzels  and  freeze-dried  strawberries,  and  for  a  third,  she  did  ask  tabby  beforehand  if  there  were  any  flavors  she'd  like  to  try.  even  after  making  these  though,  she  already  had  more  recipes  in  mind  but  would  wait  until  next  time.  “i  hope  it's  not  too  sweet.  unless  you're  okay  with  that,  but  i  tried  to  balance  it  out  instead.”  her  head  nodded  toward  the  plate  full  of  chocolate  before  continuing,  “i  want  you  to  have  the  first  bite,  then  tell  me  what  you  think.”

after  asking  to  meet  up  with  them,  imogen  had  a  crocodile  crochet  in  her  hands  and  a  small  frown  on  her  face.  once  close  enough,  she  let  out  a  sigh  before  asking,  “do  you  want  to  have  this?  for  free?  a  customer  ended  up  cancelling  an  order  and  honestly…”  her  eyes  looked  to  the  ground  for  a  second  before  turning  back  to  their  face.  “i  don't  think  i  have  enough  room  for  another  plush  on  my  bed.”

🪐 it'd probably be easier for the both of them if they stopped whatever this was. her aversion to him as a person, and his aversion to her abrasiveness, wasn't a great combination. but at the end of the day the reason the two interacted didn't have much to do with connecting on a human level...

saul would admit, he didn't see the apology coming. at least not right out of the gate, assuming it would be like pulling teeth to get her to acknowledge how she treated him at the bar was bordering on callous. he crosses his arms over his chest, face scanning her expression in some attempt to read how genuine she was was. "you're ashamed of me." it's not a question, he knows jennie is. "why?"

truthfully,  she  was  glad  he  didn't  make  a  big  fuss  about  the  apology.  it  made  her  feel  relieved,  and  less  vulnerable.  in  her  point  of  view,  she  could  have  invited  anyone  over  and  they  would  be  ecstatic  to  be  with  her,  yet  out  of  everyone  in  cider  point,  she  just  wanted  his  company.  there  was  something  about  him  that  made  her  feel  safe.

“i  never  said  i  was  ashamed  of  you,”  she  muttered,  glancing  up  at  him  momentarily.  though  she  may  be  stating  that,  she  knew  her  actions  earlier  said  otherwise.  after  finally  creating  enough  space  for  him  to  enter,  her  eyes  landed  on  him  once  again  before  letting  out  a  sigh.  “you  can  be  a  little…"  her  head  tilted  back  and  forth,  as  if  deciding  on  what  word  to  use.  “annoying,  but  i  meant  when  i  said  people  love  to  gossip  and  i  just  don't  want  others  to  talk.  i  want  some  parts  of  my  life  to  stay  private.”  but  did  she  go  about  it  in  the  wrong  say?  absolutely.  it  was  a  reason  why  she  was  apologizing  now.  a  few  seconds  of  silence  passed  before  commenting,  “i'm  surprised  you  showed  up.”  as  much  as  she  wanted  to  tug  on  his  shirt  to  pull  him  closer,  she  was  uncertain  if  he  was  comfortable.

he  smiles  and  takes  the  packets,  but  simply  places  them  in  his  lap.  HE  WAS  A  POLITE  MAN  as  it  was  the  best  way  to  survive  his  household  (  and  life  in  the  pv  in  general  ).  “no  judgment  here,  promise.”  because,  he  honestly  felt  he  had  no  room  to  judge.  it's  not  like  he  had  a  ton  of  life  experience.  “oh,  it's  for  your  book.  i  was  worried  you  were  about  to  read  me  a  text  from  some  dude  or  something,”  he  chuckles,  shaking  his  head.  “it  might  just  be  perfect,  then.  but,  if  i've  learned  anything  from  the  thousands  of  rom  coms  winnie's  made  me  watch,  isn't  the  guy  supposed  to  be  doing  all  the  romantic  talk  ?  GIVE  SOME  BIG  SPEECH  ABOUT  HOW  HE  CAN'T  LIVE  WITHOUT  HER  ?  isn't  that  what's  more  appealing  to  audiences  ?”

she  gives  a  look,  attempting  to  reassure  him  it  was  fine  and  that  her  car  should  feel  like  a  safe  space  no  matter  what.  there  was  a  sincere  smile  after  hearing  his  response  and  a  wave  of  relief  washed  over  her.  layla  was  comfortable  sharing  some  of  her  work  with  others,  mainly  the  pg  versions,  but  she  definitely  cared  more  about  opinions  from  those  closer  to  her.  “yeaaah.  if  that  were  the  case,  i  don't  think  i'll  be  showing  you  those  anytime  soon.  unless  it's  hilarious  or  something  completely  out  there.”  sitting  up  straight,  the  brunette  placed  her  notebook  and  pen  to  the  side  elsewhere  to  focus  more  on  the  conversation.

being  a  lover  of  romance  as  well,  she  did  agree  with  elias  but  also  felt  like  something  was  missing  at  the  same  time.  “usually…  yes,  but  why  can't  it  go  both  ways?  can't  both  the  characters  profess  their  love  for  another  after  being  separated  for  a  long  time?"  she  gave  him  a  few  moments  to  answer  before  continuing  on,  “i  just  haven't  thought  of  what  the  male  character  should  say  yet,  unfortunately.”  then  suddenly,  there  was  a  doubt  that  it  may  not  be  appealing  to  others.  it  made  her  think,  what  if  i'm  wrong  about  this?  for  a  few  seconds,  she  kept  her  eyes  on  him  while  laying  on  her  side  before  switching  to  lay  on  her  back  instead,  deciding  to  stare  out  the  windshield.  “or  do  you  think  that's  an  awful  idea?"

" um . . . " okay, so maybe she hasn't done her research and is mostly here to avoid any future fomo, but that doesn't mean she can't be supportive of whoever's set she happens to wander over to. " i have no idea who either of those people are, and i can't grasp the vibe from just a name, you know ? " which is making the entire night more stressful than it should be. " but i don't think anyone is giving 2000's girly pop, and that's honestly a little disappointing. " if only she could carry a tune. noelle sighs. " you seem like you have good taste. who are you most looking forward to ? " perhaps the more people she asks, the better her chance of seeing the better acts.

she  couldn't  help  smiling  at  noelle's  response,  finding  it  endearing  than  anything.  “yeah…  maybe  they  should  have  written  what  they  were  going  to  sing  or  included  what  genres  they'll  be  performing  to  make  things  easier,  but  at  least  that's  what  will  make  things  interesting,  right?”  she  waved  a  hand  at  the  compliment,  but  continued  to  smile  as  it  did  make  her  happy  deep  down.  “well  thank  you.”  out  of  all  the  names,  there  were  only  a  select  few  she  was  interested  in  seeing.  "i  definitely  want  to  see  jennie  saeli,  but  i  might  try  and  go  to  ruby  for  a  few  minutes  first  and  see  what  she's  like.  other  than  that,  i  wanted  to  see  sloane  earlier." 

she  let  out  a  soft  hum  while  contemplating  on  what  to  say  next.  “then,  of  course,  i  mentioned  wanting  to  see  christian,  even  if  i  don't  know  him  that  well.”  taking  a  look  at  the  list  of  names  once  again,  her  eyes  squinted.  “i  don't  really  know  what  the  others  will  be  like.”  after  seeing  the  last  performer  listed,  she  had  a  confused  look  on  her  face.  “but  i  think  i'll  pass  on  dead  seasons.”

Jason smiled at that. "Oh yeah? That would be awesome. Let's exchange numbers and you can text me whenever you are free to ride." He pulled out his phone and handed it out toward her. "I'm Jason by the way. I'm realizing I didn't say it at first." Jason inwardly groaned at forgetting to say his name at the beginning.

layla  wasn't  one  to  turn  down  meeting  new  people.  even  if  they  did  just  meet,  she  was  comfortable  exchanging  numbers  right  away.  after  taking  his  phone  and  adding  her  contact  as  layla,  she  handed  the  electronic  device  back.  “good  thing  you  told  me  your  name,  otherwise  you  were  just  going  to  be  skater  boy  on  my  phone.  it's  nice  to  meet  you  though.  i'm  layla."

“Unfortunately for you, I’m not usually one to separate the art from the artist.” And in this case, the “artist” got on his damn nerves. He didn't care if she had the voice of an angel, her conduct as a neighbor was too obnoxious to enjoy any music she could ever perform.

her  head  tilted  before  pursing  her  lips  for  a  second.  “aww.  it  would  have  still   been  nice  for  you  to  support  a  neighbor.  you  didn't  have  to  think  of  me  as  jennie  saeli  the  pop  star.”  if  he  even  saw  her  as  that  at  all.  eyebrows  furrowed  moments  later  before  inquiring,  “did  you  see  anyone  at  all  while  you're  here?”

she  knows  it’s  only  a  matter  of  time  before  she  runs  into  jennie,  though  she  doubts  her  ex  -  bandmate  will  stick  around  after  finishing  her  set.  hell,  she  doesn't  even  think  jennie  would  bother  watching  anyone  else’s,  probably  too  wrapped  up  in  her  own  world  to  care.  still,  when  their  paths  finally  cross  on  the  way  to  the  bar,  vada  isn’t  quite  sure  how  to  feel  —  there’s  so  much  she  wants  to  say,  and  yet  nothing  at  all  at  the  same  time.  "  look  who’s  still  here,  "  she  says  at  last,  voice  trailing  as  her  eyes  settle  on  the  girl  she  once  thought  of  as  a  friend.  "  i  figured  you’d  leave  as  soon  as  you  were  done.  did  your  head  get  bigger  since  the  last  time  i  saw  you?  "  luckily,  she’s  still  coming  down  from  the  high  of  performing,  so  the  bite  in  her  words  doesn’t  land  as  harshly  as  it  could.

she  wondered  how  much  time  has  passed  since  the  pair  have  seen  each  other.  she  knows  it's  been  years  and  by  a  quick  glance  of  vada,  she  was  a  little  impressed  with  the  person  she's  become.  rather  than  speaking  first,  she  waits  for  her  to  say  something,  and  is  semi-surprised  she  chose  to  say  a  word  at  all.  especially  with  how  elvira  mentioned  vada  was  still  upset  after  everything.  “were  you  waiting  for  me?”  with  the  show  over,  that  meant  she  could  grab  a  drink  and  feel  free  to  do  whatever  she  pleases,  so  she  wanted  to  stick  around  for  a  bit.  “woah.  i  think  you're  just  imagining  things,  but  good  to  know  you  were  thinking  of  me,”  she  replied,  smirking.  “i  met  cleo  earlier  too.  she  seems…  nice.  how  did  you  two  meet?”
